Megatron, Stafford, and Suh are the building blocks for sure. They are only 2 years away from a ship if the cards are played right.
Mornhinweg a head coach AGAIN............. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...20112_mornhinweg_a_possibility_as_colts_coach
Is this the first time in the history of the Detroit Lions that a former coach went on to coach another team?
George Wilson was coach of the Detroit Lions in the early 60s........ He later was coach for the Miami Dolphins from 1966-69........ As a side note............ He lived next door to a plucky lad named Dennis Mitchell.......star of TV, screen, and comics. Another note.......... Marty Mornhinweg has the worst win percentage ever in the history of Lions' football coaches* *who won at least one game He was 5-27 Next was Rod Marinelli.........who was 10-38
Megatron enters the last year of his rookie contract next season. The Lions are gonna want to lock him up before he enters his last contract season. Just for reference point............Larry Fitzgerald of Arizona signed recently for 120 million over 8 years. Our guy will command that kind of money.........wether here, or the open market. Normally.........the Lions enter the off-season looking for a splashy signing. Now they must focus on signing current players who could become free agents.........including Avril, Tulloch, Wright, and Backus........ Nice to have talent to resign...........and Jeff Backus.
Morningdew deserves another chance just for manning up here in Detroit for 2 years of Millen BS. LFitz was signed during a different FA contract. Tron won't get that much. Tate, what did he do to Eagles ?
The key is finding a couple of stud defensive backs. You can't give up 400 passing yards per game and expect to win a championship.
Right. There were certain things that were good about the defense this year, but other teams will exploit our weakest link over and over again. Hopefully now that we are a playoff team, management will find it in their best interest to splurge on the right FA's.
It was nice to see an effective defensive line today pressure the Saints QB. Drew Brees was made to rush the passing game as the 4 man rush came after him. I just hope one day.......that the Lions D-line can measure up to the talent shown today. it's the time of year when the defenses have to step up to win these games. 49ers did.........and we didn't.............
often 9ers only rushed 3 and the coverage almost let them get to him. I can't believe Saints let Davis get free ! even still our D must improve 2 fold.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...nge-000539148_raiders-to-interview-mornhinweg The Oakland Raiders will interview Marty Mornhinweg.......... Even the rumor that this guy will interview for 2 HC jobs seems a reach....... I just know they won't hire him..........
Let's look at this......... #1 choice was Rodgers #2 choice was Brees #3 choice was Manning.......he kina proved himself worthy these past few weeks. but..........Manning can't play cause he's in the Super Bowl.........so they have chosen. #4 Cam Newton...........that's really gotta make Lions' fans wonder whats going on. actually this is the real deal................ #5 and 2nd alternate would been Tony Romo.................... finally at #6 and 3rd alternate is Matt Stafford..............
Eli Manning is definitely a superior quarterback to Matt Stafford. Here is the order... 1. Romo 2.Manning 3. Brady, Stafford, and the rest of those guys. I wouldn't make a bold statement like that without offering indisputable proof: I assume you haven't seen this Dave Spadaro research. Next time please do your homework. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/n...ks-Ahead/d8925fbc-eb56-4f70-9afa-d62825e55445 I watched the games on Sunday after debating if I would. It was an absurd day on many fronts, perhaps the most notable of which was when my friend, a Cowboys fan, repeatedly spoke in glowing terms of the Giants and of Manning. "Eli Manning for President!" he shouted at one point. "After Tony Romo, he's the best quarterback in the NFL." That pretty much says all you need to know about Cowboys fans. (It is pretty obvious to me that in this last statement, Dave is yelling us how totally awed he is at all Cowboy's fans depth of knowledge and insights into the NFL).
I would rather watch Disney park employees growing beards than to read something written by Dave Spadaro.
Looks like the Raiders are going to hire the Defensive Coordinator from Denver.......... Strike one for Marty Mornhinweg..........
