The best players in the league are able to think quickly. He has yet to master that skill. It'll be interesting for him to go from a "me first" environment to one of no coddling. He'll struggle...especially with that group...
Easy game...those guys are weak. I'd hate to be Philly for week #2. My fantasy team will have many of your opponent players that week...
Lions just stifled Pats 34-10 They hit the Pat QBs ~6 times. Nice nice pressure. Pats didn't get any calls. Our house !!!
Well...at least nobody is predicting a 10 win season yet. I didn't see most of the game as I was busy doing the fantasy draft, but the numbers, and comments I heard during the 4th quarter certainly sounded good. Drew Stanton seems to be doing well in his time out on the field. I always did like him...
I watched the game between my picks and Detroit looked really good. Stafford was amazing and the defensive line was all over Brady constantly. Add Fairley to that line and it's the bomb.
From Titans - Bears yesterday, I found the combination of the announcers reactions and the play pretty fun: Chad Cunningham - YouTube
Probably belongs in the RIP thread, but this guy was a pretty good Lions beat writer. Detroit Lions - NFL | Lions reporter Tom Kowalski dies at 51 | The Detroit News
The Lions will finish 10-6 and make the playoffs as a wild-card team, veteran Sports Illustrated writer Peter King predicts in the magazine's NFL preview issue. King says the Lions will lose to the Eagles in the wild-card round of the playoffs. He predicts that the Packers will win the NFC North with an 11-5, and that the Falcons will beat the Chargers in the SuperBowl. Ironic. I just typed a minute ago that I hope the Lions and Eagles don't meet in the Super Bowl. King doesn't know anything as far as predicting. Here were his 2010 predictions (last season). Carolina as the surprise team??? Carson Palmer returns with a vengeance?? He did have Pittsburg in the Super Bowl but said they would win. Respect. Packers not losing sleep over Eagles' 'dream team' - delcotimes.com The Eagles aren't the Packers' only serious challengers in the NFC. The Chicago Bears beat the Packers for the NFC North title last year, then lost to their rivals in the NFC title game at Soldier Field. But the Bears could be poised to take a step backward unless Jay Cutler's protection improves significantly. With a fierce defensive line, the Detroit Lions could become the Packers' closest pursuers in the division — provided quarterback Matthew Stafford can stay healthy.
We must not forget the recent history of the Detroit Lions... 2010 - fourth place 2009 - fourth place 2008 - fourth place 2007 - fourth place 2006 - fourth place 2005 - third place (5-11 record...Packers were 4-12) 2004 - third place (6-10 record...Bears were 5-11) 2003 - fourth place 2002 - fourth place 2001 - fourth place The last time the Lions finished above .500 was when Tampa Bay was still part of our division... I have promised not to forget history until the Lions force me to...by winning.
Agreed. I read Killer's articles every day. I couldn't believe it when I checked out MLive after work yesterday and saw the news. Very sad.
Hahaha. My eyes are playing tricks on me. I checked out the Lions box score a couple minutes into the game and I saw the names, Best, Stafford, and C. Johnson all over the place. 4th preseason game. Playing your most valuable starters? What? Are they tempting fate.
