The 2012-13 team is looking good winning their first six games and ranked third in the country. They bring back Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr and added a sort of fab 3 in freshmen, Glenn Robinson III, Nick Stauskas, and Mitch McGary....

Jordon Morgan and Jon Horford make up the core players returning from the last season.

Other than Hardaway, most of the other players are underclassmen playing the key positions, so while they look explosive, they are still prone to interior defensive lapses and will need more experience if they expect to go deep in the tournament.

The Wolverines beat North Carolina State tonight 79-72 and lead from the 15 minute mark of the game until the end, leading by as many as 16 points before allowing the Wolfpack to trim the lead down in the final five minutes. They got out rebounded tonight by five but still won because of their three ball accuracy, their 80% FT shooting and they only turned the ball over 6 times tonight compared to NC State's 13.

Right now Coach Bieline is using a six man rotation playing them all about 25-30 minutes. He needs to get another player in there to give the other guys a spell for foul trouble etc. If they can find another player to get more than 1o-15 minutes in the lineup, they could be 16-0 when they meet the currently 4th rank Buckeyes on Jan 13th.

Those Hoosiers look great tonight in thrashing the Tarheels, so I expect them to stay # 1 for awhile. Michigan plays them at home in the last game of the season.

Another win today for the 7-0 Wolverines, this time on the road in Peoria Ill, beating Bradley 74-66. Not sure if they deserve a # 3 ranking as they are not blowing any teams out, but then again all you need to do is win baby win and you can maintain a top 5 rating until you get beaten.

Freshmen sensation and three point specialist Nik Stauskas continued to impress as he started for the first time this season and responded with 22 points including 4/5 from beyond the arc.

If we weren't playing so well, we could be in the running for our future point guard...Trey Burke, who is already tearing it up tonight on
ESPN2 with 13 pts and 2 steals in the first half vs Northwestern. If Michigan runs the table, he will come out and will probably go top 5...IMO

The problem is Joe has not trusted drafting an instate player since all world-all bust Mateen Cleaves..

Ran away with the game last night with almost a 30 point win on the road vs Northwestern in what might be the toughest BB conference in the nation. Got some tests coming up in the next 3-4 games....lets hope that they remain undefeated and jump over Duke for the # 1 spot...:second:>>>>:first:

The game started with Iowa taking a 7-0 lead with Michigan not able to get control of the game until about 7 minutes left in the first half,. Michigan turned in a 27-26 deficit into a big 46-35 halftime lead and led by as many as 35 points I believe en route to 95-67 runaway win. Trey Burke led the Wolverines with 1 9pts and 12 assists. The Wolverines beat Northwestern in their previous game 94-66. Nebraska is up next on the Big 10 Network tomorrow night.

Duke has the tradition and Coach K....they will stay # 1 until they lose...unless the Wolverines are able to run the table during their first meetings with Indiana, OSU, the Illini, the Gophers and the Spartans...who are all top 25 teams.

Off night for the Wolverines, leading by only 5 at the half....shooting only 39% from the floor for the game, they tuff out a hard fought win over Nebraska 62-47.

The Huskers slowed the game down and hit some threes when needed to keep the game close, but M was able to get out on a couple of fast break points and finally extended the lead out and held on to win. Hopefully the Wolves learned something from the Huskers slow down approach.

    16-0!!
