To me, sophistication Corinthian leather and a crystal key.
I love the smell of rich Corinthian leather.
I love the smell of poor Corinthian leather
Nice win by the Wolverines over #9 Gophers in Minnesota yesterday. The 17-1 Wolverines were led by Tim Hardaway Jr's 21 pts and if Iam not mistaken, he got 19 of those in the first half. (or at least 17)....Tre Burke wearing # 12 because his #3 uniform was rippped, scored 18 points and dished out 9 assists. I think Michigan's last 8 points which by the way was the difference in the game were scored from the FT line. Michigan led by as many as 18 points and will be playing Purdue at home next week.
Rines handle Purdue 68-53 and should move into #1 Monday with their last two road wins over ranked opponents. Purdue had been taking care of UoM with a 7-3 record last 10 games.
Well # 1 Duke lost on Wednesday and # 3 Syracuse and # 5 Louisville have already lost today, but M is not guaranteed the # 1 ranking unless the take out the 'illni in Illinois tomorrow afternoon. They are 15-5, so it won't be an task for the 18-1 Wolverines. The Purdue game was tough, as Michigan trailed by one at the half only to come out and blast the Boilermakers in the second half 36-20.. GO BLUE
I sniff a great season
Ahhhhh...another chance at that elusive #1 ranking...........Go Blue.
After an 18-1 start, you are going out on a limb with this prediction...
If they lose in the second round of the NCAA's...then the season sucks. I'm kinda dreamin of an MSU - UM matchup in the Final Four...or even for all the marbles...... Michigan needs to make the Final Four to really make a difference. With Tre Burke leaving after this run, we gotta show..... Can't wait til the two teams play.........gonna be a good one.
as long as we don't see UCLA in the second round...
Michigan wins 74-60.......seemed like a blow-out.
They had an 18 point lead in the late second half with pair of 9-0 runs everytime the Illini brought it down to 7 or 8 points. No doubt they should rise to 3# 1 tomorrow....can they hold on to it for more than a week with Northwestern at home on Wednesday and then on the road in Indiana on Saturday?? Morgan rolled an ankle in the opening minutes tonight...Hopefully he is ready to go by Saturday in Bloomington.. On a side note ..anybody catch what occurred in Ypsi yesterday? EMU lead at halftime 18-4 as Northern Illinois was 1/31 from the field in the first half. The final score, EMU 42, NIU 25. For EMU, only two players hit more than 1 bucket...the other seven were 1 for something. Northern Illinois only made 8 buckets in the game. Only one player in the whole game scored in double figures. (for EMU)
The writers love Michigan and they grabbed 51 of the 65 first place votes to claim number 1 in the AP and ESPN power rankings, but the coaches on the strength of Kansas 17 game win streak have the Jayhawks at # 1, but only by three votes. Kansas plays unranked West Virginia and OK state this week, and Michigan plays Northwestern and 3rd ranked Indiana this week......so who has the easier schedule? If M goes 2-0 they stay at # 1. If Indiana beats both Purdue and Michigan then I think they leap frog Kansas back to # 1. NCAA College Basketball Polls, College Basketball Rankings, NCAA Basketball Polls - ESPN
I believe that Michigan can enter the Big ten tourney with only 2 losses. I don't see it happenin against Indiana...........
I'll say the Big Ten champ has 4 conference losses.
You need to spend more time shoveling, and less time making wild guesses. :-)
We will come back to this wild guess in about a month. I have a snow blower, by the way.
Another # 1 goes down, and this time it's Michigan. The first half of the game vs the Hoosiers looked similar to the game that the Wolverines had vs the Buckeyes last month. They came out rattled by the crowd and allowed the home team drilled down threes with reckless abandon falling behind by 15 and then exhausting themselves in an effort to make the come back. Like in the loss to OSU, the Wolverines come all the way back and tied the game at 40, only to allow Indiana to go on a 9-0 run and make Michigan once again play catch up the last 10 minutes of the game. A lot of threes to early when they probably could have packed it in for some short jumpers. About time the threes started to fall, they were trading free throws with the Hoosiers, who hit their last 13 in a row. I still think coach B should have called a TO when the lead got to 6, not 12 during that opening six minutes of the game. Key play probably came down the stretch when Cody Zeller outhustled two Wolverines for a loose ball that turned into points for the Hoosiers just when it appeared that Michigan could have gone down the other end and closed the game down to 2. Zeller looks like an upgrade over Tyler Hansbrough which means that he will fall some where Tyler and David Lee., handling the NBA muscle. Once again #1, #2, # 5 and # 6 go down this weekend, so it's anyone guess where Michigan falls, but I say probably 4th with IU, Florida, Duke holding down the top three spots. Next up for Michigan a rematch with the Buckeyes.
I wasn't able to watch this one, but Zeller's highlight reel was very impressive. Athletic bugger.
