The Raiders defense finished 24th in fantasy points last season. Did they make some major upgrades?
Their defense finished 29th statistically so they hired Jason Tarver as their Defensive Coordinator. He was originally discovered by Steve Mariucci.......... Last job was DC at Stanford, where he helped Harbaugh build a strong D. His team led the Pac-10 in 6 categories last season. He has a Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular biology. His father is a research scientist. Defense is getting rave reviews so far this season.......... His players call him the "Mad Chemist"........ Just like I said above............A revamped defense ............worth noting Jason Tarver has his own interpretation of a top five defense - Silver And Black Pride
With just 10 teams in our fantasy football league, I'm sure the Oakland Defense will be available for you whenever you want them.
It would be hard for a defense ranked 29th..........to suddenly jump into the top ten the next season........... That's why I have the defense who I selected. Just remember Bill...........You read about Tarver here first..............
Who is Tarver?
He's a renouned scientist who found over 100 uses for the peanut and all its by-products.
I guess I was wrong on several counts. I think Raida's remembered who knocked them out of playoffs last year.
Looks like the Lions are still trying to fix their secondary. Report: Lions trade for Redskins CB Kevin Barnes | Detroit Lions | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Did anyone see the game ? Was the Buff starters in when the TronStaff was unleashed ? MegaFord, MegaStaff, StaffTron, StaffMega, Staff of Tron...get use to it !
Staff of Tron, I like it. Sounds like something from a Tolkien epic - Wield the Staff of Tron.
Darth's list of the Greatest prophets of our modern age: 1. Wiggles 2. Titus Young. (who "Guaransheed" a Boise State victory over Michigan State).
I think he just said it would be a good game. He understood he was standing on Michigan turf.
According to the Detroit News, He did. But also he told them Boise State would win the game and that he knows it for a fact and to quote him on it. And they did.
Lions are 5-7 during their last 12 games. They've acted undiciplined and spoiled during that time. I DID choose them as my survivor pick though, only because this may be their only nick fairly easy game. look for an 8-8 season as coach tries to get all of the rats out of the barn.
Stafford has connected on 20/24 passes in the first half....unfortunately 3 of those were completed to Rams defenders that turned into 13 pts for them....and the Lions are down 3 at the half. This game should be at least 28-0, or at least 21-0.... Stafford needs to trust the ground game when he is in the red zone...
Has Staff turned diva with the commercials and all. He usually doesn't miss in the red zone ?
huge win - Lions 27 Fishers 20 Kevin Smith makes up for drops and scores winning TD !!!
Good comeback win as Stafford runs two perfect TD series to steal back game in the last 10 seconds, beating the Rams 27-23. Kevin Smith> 62 yards on 13 carries, probably could have been handed the ball more often...especially when Matt threw that first pick. Stafford was 32-48 for a league leading 355 yards...(so far),. The three picks almost cost the game, but he atoned for it in the 4th qtr.
Stafford has some serious talent. During 95% of my Lions watching years, our QB was either below average or servivable. Great to have a top 5ish QB with the top receiver. It makes it way more fun to watch when we're losing because there is actual hope for a comeback.
