I think that we're about a .500 team right now. We've had 2 home games and 4 road games so far and we are 2-4. We haven't lost or won a single game by more than 1 potential possession (+4, -8, -3, -7, +3, -6). We won and OT game and lost one. We have 6 home games and 4 road games remaining. We need to win 7 out of 10 or better to get to 9-7. The odds of flipping a coin 10 times and getting at least 7 heads is about 17%. Since we have 50% more home games remaining that road games, the odds are probably more likely over 20%. Since 9-7 may not make the playoffs, I'd say that the odds of us making the playoffs are back down to 17%. Historically, 14.7% of teams that start off 1-3 end up making the playoffs for comparison (I just use that because it was available). Being 2-4 isn't much different than being 1-3. Also, many of the teams that started off 1-3 historically did so because they are terrible. We aren't terrible, just mediocre with some bad fumbles.
Looks like the Steelers might take a chance on Burress and Hoyer. The Lions should have gone after Plax...much better team guy than Titus Young, huge size, and far more talented Sources say Burress could be signed to Steelers - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
What a heart wrenching defeat. So typical. We were rooting for them in my house. They got screwed on the call on the fumble. Then Schwartz cost them the game with the stupid flag. Why did he go for the field-goal on third down? That team is cursed. That is why I am not a Lions fan. The Eagles suck but you don't see them getting losses like that. I feel really bad for the Lions and their fans. Anyhow, happy Thanksgiving everybody.
I left town to visit friends. I had them make the Thanksgiving reservations for 1:00 pm MST. Lions were ahead 24-21 when we left to eat. At the end of the meal, I found out that the Lions had a touchdown lead with 2 minutes left. People wanted to hurry home to see the game and I said, "I don't wanna watch these guys lose in OT". My prediction was admired by my Wyoming friends, but all to easy to guess if you're familiar with Lions football.
DT Ndamukong Suh, other Lions don't 'understand what it takes to win', a teammate says - Yahoo! Sports
The Lions are a team full of knuckleheads........Including management. I predicted 3rd place and an 8-8 record.............I was much too kind. There are a few major problems with the Detroit Lions’ 2013 calendar | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
when you're right you're right. I guess I can't expect any better next year. I do think this group of coaches deserve another year. Unless a proven winner wants to run them out of town.
Knuckleheads is a pretty decent description. It's somewhat fun to watch each game because we have the capability of winning each one, but there is clearly something wrong with the DNA.
I miss those edgy threads for each Lion game. Thee musta given up on our playoff chances. Anyways....this game may be close but we won't win. The Falcons wanna lock up home field advantage. I expect Mikel to have a good game. Wanna see if Megatron can break a record. The Falcons will just wanna Keep Away From a Runaround Suh.......................................
yeah, I gave up on P/Os about 4-5 , they just weren't showing P/O quality football. But I still thought they could upset/get some wins. They can pretty much hang with anyone. But they can shoot themselves in the foot better than anyone.
lol... that's getting juicy ! before you know it alot of olinemen will come out of the woodwork with similar stories !
I'm not suprised the slightest that it happened or does happen allot more then let on. I am shocked that he would admit it in public, even more so he offered it up without being asked.
I don't blame Lomas at all. Those days were so frustrating. I'm glad i don't allow myself to care anymore.
Well......it's Black Monday. The day that is traditionally used to fire used head coaches. So far we have this tally as of 11:00 am............. 1. Andy Reid 2. Rex Ryan stays....but GM let go. (sucker signed Sanchez at 10 mil per....) 3. Pat Shurmur 4. Romeo Crennel 5. Mike Mularkey stays for now....but GM let go. (he might as well pack his bags...) 6. Norv Turner and GM Smith expected to go soon. 7. Chan Gailey So the official number is 4, but expect more soon.......... C-mon Ford boys.........you can do it.
c-mon we need some consistancy even if he's a wild and crazy guy. I know you don't want any of these recycled losers.
