So who'll run the ball this year.............. Our choices don't look so good. Tron don't need those touches.................unless we're inside the 20............
1. I think that Stafford played a bit over his head last season........I see him having less yards this year.....1,000 yds less........... 2. Stafford to Calvin is no longer gonna take teams by surprise...like it did last year. 3. Teams don't need to plan for our running attack..........so they'll gear up more for our passing. 4. I see the Lions going 8-8 this year............no better.
1. I think that Stafford played a bit over his head last season........I see him having less yards this year.....1,000 yds less........... I don't know if he'll be better or worse, but if I had to bet I'd say close to last year's results would be my guess. That's the hope.......Calvin proved to be the only decent weapon last season.......Teams will take him away much more effectively this year. 2. Stafford to Calvin is no longer gonna take teams by surprise...like it did last year. Really don't think they suprised anybody last year.... That has been the 1st thing you defend against when game planning for us. Last year was Stafford's coming out party........to a lesser extent.......same with Calvin. Teams were caught off guard as Stafford put up HUGE numbers his last 9 games...........versus previous 7. 3. Teams don't need to plan for our running attack..........so they'll gear up more for our passing. We have not has a running game in years, really no different this year. Other teams saw the potential for our running attack last season..........this season.........NO worries...so planning is different. 4. I see the Lions going 8-8 this year............no better. .Our offense will pull its weight, if we don't improve over last year which I think could go either way.... the Def will be to blame I see chemistry issues as coach's leadership seems to give permission to sloppy...agressive play. Our defense SCARES me as we've done nothing to help there. If Stafford regresses, then we're in trouble............and 8-8 will look good come year's end.
Here's an opposing view of my Lion's prediction.............I think he's really...out there. Five single-season NFL records that could be broken in 2012 | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
Speaking of our running game..............I've got a lineman for us........... 6'11" tall and 500 pounds. His nickname is HOUSE............ We could run a play called the 'slob sweep'............ Say hello to ‘House,’ who’s too big for the NFL | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
****Sad truth is Staff and Tron could put equal numbers like last year and there's no record improvement. But the propensity for improvement on O and D is better this year as we kept all our good people. Thanks Rnd, Nems has been hanging out at that loser Mike Vick site.
Tron won the Biletnikoff Award for best receiver in his last year at GT and was ACC player of the year. He was drafted #2. He set an NFL record in the broad jump at 11'7" (very near world record). He was 5th in the league in receiving yards in 2008 as a 22 year old as the team went 0-16 and he was named an alternate for the pro bowl. He made his first pro bowl in 2009. He was tied for second in the league in TD's in 2010 with Sean Hill throwing to him. That's not exactly stealthy. Nobody signs you to a $135,000,000 contract after one breakout season. In looking at his stats, I'm amazed by his lack of fumbling. He turns it over by fumble once out of every 1,200 yards gained... or about once a season on average.
When playing college......projections had him as a potential elite NFL WR. Last year was his 1st season as a top 3 NFL wideout.....IMHO. I remember we had a question a while back that pondered the Lions top all time WRs. Several of us followers of the NFL, and BillLaimbeer considered the question. At that time, if I remember right, nobody had Tron at the elite status as of then. Interesting how he's quickly vaulted. Your stats paint a picyure of a NFL Superstar in waiting, but I think he had his coming out party last season.
Maybe............but I think I've been jaded since Millen picked 3 WRs in a row...........and they all flopped. One Druggie.........One BOT, and one who went to Dallas so he could fail there. I just never expected so much (from Tron) since we've been trickbagged before.
Lions at Da Raiders : Leshoure makes his debut. Hasn't hit anything in anger since college. Look for Lions to blow Black Holers out of the universe. Say 150 yd rushing. * Streater my be Raiders only reliable reciever. Palmer my only complete 50% of passes. 27-12 Lion
Since game is important, Streater is on the bench............. Denarius Moore burns weak Lions' secondary for 120 yards............ Raider running game takes advantage of the Lions' wide nine................ Raider revamped defense chokes the Life out of the Lions offense........... Moog hurries to pick up Raider "D" for his fantasy team........ Palmer completes 56% of his passes......... Da Raiders Win..........31-17...........
