The 4th & 1 stop was awesome, moment of the game definitely. Congratulations.
Hell of a game on both sides of the ball It was beautiful. Kyler Elsworth became a Spartan legend today
our YOUR coach made a nice quick smooth side step to avoid that Gatorade bath. It's moves like that which have endeared him to the Texas Longhorns. Ugh. Do you think he will remain loyal to Sparty if they offer him the big bux?
Great pictures Detteam. I'm going to keep going back and looking at those for the next couple days. I'm so happy for the team and especially Dantonio. Chokes me up. Those announcers all seemed biased toward Stanford. The panel too. They all said Syanford would blow MSU out after the half.
In other news, before the game Prior to Rose Bowl, Mark Dantonio’s new contract blooms | CollegeFootballTalk Nice to see you made it out from under the bed, Tater
I like the story about Dantonio visiting the Rose Bowl back in May to tape a "this is our goal speech". As soon as the new Lions coach is hired, he needs to fly out to Glendale, AZ where the 2015 Super bowl will be held and make a similar speech....
Great game. Love the d. Stanford was insane for not passing on the final drive.
Where's nemo? He should be joining in on the celebration.
The beauty of a blog is how retrospective it can truly be. Anyway, epic win by "Big Brother" MSU yesterday. Hell, I would even call them "Big Daddy" now. I agree with Tas in the questioning of Stanford's play-calling. They kept running the ball. Talk about slamming your head into a brick wall over and over again. Despite the close score, MSU was clearly the better team and made great adjustments. Best team in the BIG this season and gives the conference a little bit of credibility after the beating the conference has taken in the eyes of the "experts." An Alabama loss puts them No. 2 in the country.
Why didn't he go to the stadium the BCS is played? Isn't the Rose Bowl similar to the "bronze game" or do they play it at the same stadium?
The BCS championship game is also being played at the Rose Bowl this year. They started re-sodding the field this morning.
Dantonio is now paid top 3 in the conference. So assuming he is " ONLY"third: The previously #3 Iowa guy gets 3.985 and the #2 Michigan gets 4.1. Ohio is 4.6. So Dantonio is likely right at 4 million. But with a " measly 170,000 more than 4 he could be above Brady. Which, as Dantonio says, "why not (me)"?
Gazoo, I deserved that and I'm glad you dug it up. I totally remember making that prediction and thought about how off the "Mark" I was, many times throughout the season. I must admit I really believed it to be true. I'm so glad I was mistaken. What a dream season!! The great thing is that the foundation appears to be in place for many more great seasons to come.
How long did it take to recover from Saban ? Better keep D'Antoni. Saban and the Texas guy are looking at $6-10M depending on revenue, which is already there. * Black - Everything's Coming Up Roses - YouTube *
Do you mean recover from John L. Smith? Saban took Sparty to 3 bowls in 5 years. Bobby Williams came after Saban. He was sub-.500 in 3 seasons.
Yeah after Saban it was down hill. Did J.L. Smith do anything notable ?
What they're saying: Michigan State football 'looking pretty good' to recruits after Rose Bowl win | MLive.com This gives great perspective on what the National media, opposing team and conference, and our writers have to say,. Wow!!
