Every year... Year after year, Josh Smith name comes into trading rumors in February.

I think JD did that to keep that tradition alive.
Don't you think we would expect trading him, do you?

Philly traded Hawes to Cavs for two 2nd round picks and they took on Mullins contract for two 2nd round picks. They currently have two 1st round picks and 9 (!) second round picks.

They also traded Turner for Granger. Not yet known how many 2nd round picks that are involved.

I know we got boat load of guards (that can't shoot), but I am thinking with Billups pretty much done for the season, that trading for Andre Miller could have been a suitable backup point guard. I am sure the Nuggets would have been happy to take anyone for Miller whether it was Bynum, or a Siva/GiGi combo........This team is in need of a guard that can settle the troops when Jennings is out of control resting, and Miller although 37 could have done what Billups or Bynum couldn't do.

I am thinking Phil Jackson put the word out to have everyone to put their phone of ignore if Joe tried to call or text them about shopping any of our idiots, players.

If the Pacers wanted to move Granger, for Turner, we could have matched that deal by giving them Stuckey/GiGi for Granger and had our SF who may be back to norm by next season.............. Guess they didn't want to trade within the division........

It makes sense. Wonderful athlete, that has IQ issues. Needs a strong organization, coach and mature teammates.
    Color him gone this summer.

Stuckey/Gigi for Granger is still a good deal. But Turner for Granger is a better deal for Indiana.

They're going to be scary good in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if they dethrone Miami.

I have avoided piling on JD over the years, although he's obviously responsible for a lot of the mess.

I suspect the Pistons are writing off the season, and there is a good chance JD will leave at the end, as he doesn't have a contract extension in place. A GM who is doing a good job and has the confidence of ownership should never get past the all star break as a lame duck.

This team can't afford to not make trades.

He got lucky with Ben Wallace. He got lucky with Rip Hamilton. I suspect a large part of landing Rasheed Wallace and the trade working out was LB as much as people are loathe to give LB (or for that matter, Carlisle) any credit.

He's created a circus of the coaching position, and he's shown absolutely no ability to make a shrewd trade in 10 years. Everyone is terrified of him having cap space except player agents.

Part of being a sports fan is being eternally optimistic in the face of overwhelming evidence of doom. That said, I don't think anything this front office does will get me excited again. Once bitten, twice shy.

We could have had 1 coach since 2003 and been in good shape.

Only, we got bitten twice. What then?

This team needs to embrace rebuilding from the ground up. Lethargic play is more a part of Detroit Basketball than defense and toughness.
