A rotation that is possible. Just my way of keeping track of things a bit.

Starters, same as much of last season: Jennings, KCP, Smith, Monroe, Drummond.

    Bench: Augustin, Meeks, Martin, Mitchell.

Always, either Monroe or Drummond is out there playing center.

Guys excluded: Bynum, Singler, JJ, Gray, Datome, Dinwiddie, Butler

Notes: This is 16 guys. Something will change obviously before the season strats to get it down to 15. Releasing Singler would be a good idea. Since we just got four shooters off the free agent market. I'd certainly rather see Butler get some playing time vs. Singler.

Datome and Bynum are another two I would not miss.

Dinwiddie is coming off injury. Any updates on at timeline for his return?

Thoughts on rotation above: Mitchell can pure sky. Nice to have either him or Drums on the floor at all time, so the other team can never be sure their shot is not about to get swatted out of the gym. I would kind of like to see Mitchell be the first guy off the bench, giving us a front line of Smith, Mitchell, and Drummond, firmly reestablishing the no fly zone concept round these parts.

Augustin gives us a good backup, ensuring we can always have an actual point guard on the floor.

I am not all that familiar with the game of Martin. Obviously, Butler should get a shot too at small forward backup minutes, especially in situation we need a shooter on the floor to spread the floor. But Martin might be the main guy there, especially if we need defense added to the equation.

Lee your starting lineup reminds me of a losing team that played at the palace last year. Although half of the second part of the season featured Singler and not KCP, it was still a team that had hard time getting close to .500. Although the players are the same, something has to change.

Somebody between KCP, Smith and Jennings probably needs to sacrifice a starting role and come off the bench.

I will disagree on two grounds. One, it took a long time before Cheeks put KCP into the starting unit. Two, we really did not stick with our big front line much, instead quickly replacing one of our bigs with a too small guy and moving Smith to power forward. And the third point, a starting unit with no decent backups has way too much pressure on it. PS, Stuckey was the only bright spot off the bench last season, the only guy who came in and really gave anyone a true rest. Anyway, I would surely like it if the new coach gave this starting unit a real chance, with real backups, and with staying big at all times by using a guy such as Mitchell to be the primary bigs backup. After this is really tried, then lets talk.

Smith, Monroe, Drummond was the worst Three Man Lineup for the Pistons last year and one of the top ten worst Three Man Lineups in the NBA last year.

Either Smith or Monroe will not be on the team, or one of them will not be in the starting lineup. Van Gundy has won too many games in his career to play Smith at the Small Forward position and let that poor of a 3 Point Shooter take 3s.

Your discontent for Singler is evident, but eventually you have to face the facts. There is no small forward on this team that can play much better defense than Singler. KCP is too small. Butler is over the hill. Martin has never proven he was a defensive commodity.

Three man rotation of Smith, Monroe, and Drummond at the 4 and 5.

The debate to be had is:

Who starts at PG: Jennings or Augustin?

Who starts at SG: KCP or Meeks?

Who starts at SF: Singler or Butler?

    No.

    Were they worth watching?

Did watching the games reveal anything the statistics did not?

I watched all of the Lions' games last year. They were just as painful.

CJ was just giving you one of Lee's classic lines. When there is irrefutable evidence proving something, Lee will often argue that if you would simply just watch the games (perhaps in super-slo motion) that the eyeball test would outweigh all of the statistics in the world.

This is rediculous. Super slow mo just won't do it. I suggest very strongly to use frame by frame.

If you ever felt like the Pistons organization was hopeless, just visit PacersDigest.com and check out the thread on the Paul George injury.

Comparing franchises, we're like Simba to Mufasa in the hopes of ever becoming king.

Terrible news for this franchise. But, we have to be thankful it was George not Drummond who suffered this kind of injury.

they had a very short window for a Championship: the last two seasons. Now they're doomed to play mediocre for the foreseeable future regardless whether PG comes back at full strength or not.

Perhaps the Pacer fans have underestimated the immediate and profound impact that one Collider will bear.
