Chauncey isn't a ringless washed-up veteran chasing championships. He wouldn't have signed up here if that had been his plan. He has been there, even got the Finals MVP. He wants to ride into the sunset in dignity, which is why he came back here and which is why this was a classy move by Dumars in the first place. This is a transition-to-retirement phase for Billups, the same way Big Ben did. It makes no sense to trade him, and I doubt he wants to go anywhere else at this point. We won't get anything in return for his contract which is very small.

We're better off trading any of: Singler, JJ, Bynum, Gigi, Mitchell, Siva, Jorts. Keep the expirings of CV & Stuckey for cap flexibility this summer.

Yuge news coming out of the Pistons per a notice sent to my telephone. Y-U-G-E news.

It looks like the Pistons have sent their best big man defender and rebounder, Tony Mitchell, and their tallest PG, Peyton Siva, to the D league. This is going to have a ripple effect across the entire roster.

I am looking for a source, but it doesn't even seem like ESPN is covering this.

I can't decide if this move is completely clueless, or the "checkmate" in the Agenda Against Winning.

Look for teams around the entire NBA trying to counter this move....key word "trying"...

I am OK with them going down there and getting every day PT if they can break the line up.....especially Mitchell.

I read that Louisville football Cardinals are playing in a bowl game in Orlando Saturday and bunch fans had planned on going to the Piston/Orlando game to see Siva play either ride the pine or get in some garbage time......now they won't see him and he won't get a chance to hang out an day extra with some of his old student friends... Pistons really know how to time their actions....

I agree it is a good move to send these two to the D-League.

As far as making decisions based on when guys can hang out with their buddies, the Pistons have far bigger issues to deal with.

It was more an issue with the university who didn't bother to check with the Pistons on their future moves before selling a package deal to Cardinal alumni and fans for the Piston - Magic game in hopes of seeing Siva leading us to the win. What Cardinal fan wants to a Piston - Magic game without Siva at least shooting threes in warm ups....:gaah:

Siva is going to rack up some stats against the smaller point guards.

The guy who tracks near steals for the Mad Ants is probably going to come down with carpel tunnel syndrome if Siva stays down for any length of time.

With Siva gone who on earth is going to cover the taller PG's, Will Bynum? He doesn't have the height to even bother shooters.

I'd like to see them bring in Anthony Goldwire.

No kidding. Did all get that small phrase: loosely.

Big dream world that JD lives in. He has forgotten his commonality. Reaching the pinnacle in all ways at the end of the teeter: one get lazy and associates past (always those that are the unfortunate ones) that some how all become a continuous being with past stages of metamorphoses acting as front stage into some sort of new being...past as remembrance.

What a deep hole we are in.
