Wasn't he the guy who sided with Howard and fired Stan?
I believe they got canned together.

How hard is it to coach a D-League team?
It's slightly better than the top D-I teams (Duke, Kentucky, MSU, etc.). Defense doesn't seem to be a high priority.
But whoa to the team that does. When you own the D-League team, you try to match it with the NBA system that is currently in charge. Since SVG has a few years to emphasize what he wants out of players, then the D team becomes more than a gunners club and tailored for the holes that can be filled for the Pistons. It should be remembered that many on the margins (both out of the rotation and a D-leaguer) are but one injury aspect from proving their staying power.
Sometimes I just go with what is stuck in my brain. Officially (Webster's New World Dictionary): it means stop, which was my inflection (use especially in directing a horse to stand still). This corollary was meant that the old style of D League ( historical exhibition-on-parade, which meant satisfying the offense of the ego) was never challenge by hegemonic system requirements. This will probably change.
Why would you think that? The D-League is rarely used to actually develop players for a parent club (as done in MLB and even NHL). Guys that thrive in the D-League often get 10-day contracts in March when teams are injury-riddled. The path to NBA success is rarely via the NBDL.
It's really sad that this is the case.
The NBA really needs an expansion
Its just conjecture but I think things are headed to a more hegemonic system. Teams want control and this presents an obvious avenue. Especially as owners get more and more control and power from the CBA.
Pistons 2014-15 schedule to be released in a couple of hours....
Pistons begin season playing AT Denver, then AT Minnesota
They follow that with a 4-game HOMEstand: Brooklyn, Knicks, Bucks, Jazz
Full schedule: 2014-15 Schedule | Detroit Pistons
For any other Bay Area fans the home team is coming to golden state March 11
I believe Slippy is in the Bay area.
And Mikhail.......he and I met at a Pistons Warriors game about six years ago.........when we were winning
Summer Forecast from ESPN: East and West
Detroit (11th in East, 22nd overall)
Not a bad schedule to start:
Denver (11th in West, 20th overall)
Minnesota (15th in West, 28th overall)
Brooklyn (8th in East, 17th overall)
New York (10th in East, 21st overall)
Milwaukee (14th in East, 29th overall)
Utah (14th in West, 27th overall)
I only see two "4 game in 5 days" and two 4 game road trips, one fairly short travel and the west coast trip isn't until March.
Lots of one day off between games sets. It could be a good schedule in terms of getting in a good rhythm.
23 back to back sets seems a little high though.
So much better than the season a couple of years ago with 7 of the first 8 on the road.
