Aren't they too small to "B&R" ?
Ain't easy losing your bread and butter. But they survived. Stafford and Johnson are the new bread and butter.
Nobodies going to cover Tron 1 on 1 again !
Without looking up any other team's measurables, I'd say we're about average size for DBs.
Mathis 6'1 195
Slay 6'1 190
Green 6'0 184
Houston 5'11 178
Bentley 5'10 182
Greenwood (practice squad) 6'1 193
The scheme sucks. We're not talented enough in the secondary to give teams a 10 yard cushion and expect our young, overmatched DBs to be able to stay with a guy that has that much of a head start. They have 10 yards to gain speed and can then change direction (or worse, pull a double move) and then we're totally screwed or they can pick us apart with short passes all day long with them being 1 missed tackle away from a big play - which was exactly what happened on Sunday.
Slay is 6'0" i read. no 200 lbers there. They tackle wrong from the rear. They try to dive and arm sweep the ankles. They should dive when the forward foot lands then push that foot across the other leg when it lifts up.
Way to break it down technically, TFD. Clickers!!
The Lions did the Eagles a big favor beating Dallas. Hopefully the Eagles can return the favor by beating Green Bay next Sunday. The Eagles are 4-1 on the road so maybe it will happen.
You'd better beat a Rodgers-less Pack!
Lion at Bear
Cutler will try and start. With a freshly ripped groin. I think McKown played so well Cutler fears for his job.
If Cut has limited mobility, Suh will eat him up whole.
It's winnable but...
Groins 23 from a stupid Dee TD
Lions got this one. 38-13
Monster Road Win 21-19
Young tried to give it away with a late hit. But the Bears tried to run it in from 1 yd and Fairley and Suh treated them to a minus yardage.
In terms of total offense per game, the Lions are 3rd. In passing yards per game, Stafford is 2nd, behind only Peyton Manning.
The schedule is relatively easy from this point forward. We have 4 home games vs 3 on the road and the combined record of our opponents is 22-41.
@ PIT (3-6)
GB (5-4) but missing Rogers for a while
@ PHI (5-5)
@ MIN (2-7)
5 out of the last 7 indoors.
The Lions are winning games they would have lost the past few years. No way Stafford would have had the presence of mind to jump the line and get that win vs the Cowboys two weeks ago and last years Lions would have allowed the 2 pt conversions...especially since the refs tried to give the Bears another chance to tie with a questionable roughing the passer call.
With the success they are having, you have to wonder if the probably should be 8-1 one after blowing wins they probably should have won vs the Cardinals and the Bengals.
They still seem to be kind of inconsistent with the offense and I am not ready to give them NFC Championship game credentials just yet, but I am looking a possible 11-5 record.
With a home game maybe Bress won't put 50 on us again.
Poor Brandon Marshall is really taking this loss hard.
Bears' Brandon Marshall blasts Detroit Lions as 'borderline illegal' and 'little brother' | MLive.com
Brandon Marshall just needs to keep his mouth shut.
That guy is an idiot.
After we beat them the first time it was: "Wait until we play them in our house". Now after we beat them in their house it's, "Wait til we play them in the playoffs".
Aw, that's so cute. He thinks they're going to make the playoffs!
