The butt hurt in Marshall is strong.
Get used to it, as soon as we start dominating other teams will whine to.
I don't wanna face those guys in the playoffs.
The Lions are alone atop the NFC North and have the easiest remaining schedule in the division. Smells like playoffs. We can't mess this up now.........................................can we?
At Steelers: We've gone into 3 Rivers with what I thought was a good team only to fail maybe even in a close game. The Steelers have 6 rings. Yet this year they struggle to play .500 ball. Some say they are old but Big Ben has won 2 SBs and is still young. There Oline is a shamble and they won't pay for any diva yet great player. Lion 23 Lebeau's 20
Detroit Lions at Pittsburgh Steelers - November 13th, 1955 - Pro-Football-Reference.com Details from our last win in Pittsburgh.
Steelers cutting through the Lion D with aplomb. Tron with a nice catch for TD.
Lions make a great second qtr comeback with 27 points....and lead at the half 27-20
Hmmm 27 points in the second quarter and none in the second half......obviously the Lions can't operate in wet conditions. They certainly had a hard time catching the ball.....especially on the last two series of downs. Can anybody catch other than Calvin? The Steelers were missing key personnel but it didn't stop them. Obviously the key play of the game was the botched 4th and 5 attempt with about 11 mins left in the game. A TD would have been nice, but a FG would have at least given them the 7 point lead and maybe the defense would have played the game differently as the Steelers moved it 95 yards for the winning TD.
I watched the game with my Dad and that play really pissed me off. That really changed the game. If they come away with a field goal, they're up 7 points. Even if Pittsburgh scores a TD on the next drive (which they did), it's a tie game with plenty of time for us to march down the field to kick a game winning field goal. Instead, the Lions are down and Stafford forces a deep pass that is intercepted. WAAAAAY too many drops yet again in this game. It's too bad that Bell got injured. I would have rode him hard in the 2nd half when we were still leading and benched Bush. This just wasn't his game. He relies on cutbacks and quick moves, which aren't conducive to a muddy, wet field.
right too bad our coaches didn't understand that !
And after the storm delay, Da Bears come back and kick a FG in OT to win their game and tie the Lions for the division lead....
Lions are STILL who we thought they were!
Bottomline, the secondary is just awful and Lions receivers not wearing # 81 just can't catch.
Lions down early, Linehan opens up the offense in the second and we score 27. In the third, its back into conservative mode and hang on. Where have I seen that before?
I got some good fant pts.
Rough day for the Lions. The Steelers picked today of all times to play well. Crappy that the bears won in OT but that's the only team they probably need to worry about.
The Lions lost. Stick a fork in them.
Haven't won there since the early 50's...so pretty good effort.
Another coaching job were the coaches had no taste for the momentum. Schwartz must've thought his Dee could contain BigBen and took his foot off the gas. Maybe he thought he was saving Stafford ? Though we could run on them, we couldn't expect to run them off the field ? You gotta punch these men hard long and deep until the score is out of reach !
