Wish every thanksgiving game went down like this one.
The Lions won the game
really glad the Dee gave up only 10 pt. 7 sacks so the Pack knew they couldn't/wouldn't protect ErrorFlynn.
Still with the Ints by Stafford. I've seen how touchless he is in close quarters firing the ball too fast to guys 30 ft. from him. Nice to see a different WR catch a TD
Great game yesterday ....the Lions players enjoyed their Turkey and dressing for the first time in 10 years and so did I.
What looked like a possible loss due to turnovers turned into a big win. Need to build on it and knock off the Philadelphia Darth Eagles in the next game.
You're right. Even after yesterday, Megatron has over 1/2 of the Lions' receiving touchdowns:
Calvin - 16
Fauria - 6
Durham - 2
Pettigrew - 2
Bush - 2
Burleson - 1
Ross - 1
Ogletree - 1
staff might do an ugly 40 TDPs this year
Right now, Stafford leads the entire NFL in passing yards (3,825) and his 27 TDs only trails Manning (36) and Brees (28).
what about his INTs, huge mess.
His completion % is way below also.
A couple were bad decisions, a couple were bad luck (deflections bouncing into other team's hands, etc.). I don't like them, but also I'm not overly concerned
His receivers also have the most drops in the league - 35 to date. Seattle is last with 10 & 4 teams are tied for 16th place (middle of the pack) with 18.
Stafford's completion % is currently 59.2% which puts him at 25th in the league. If our receivers dropped passes at the league average, it would raise to 62.6% which would move him up 10 spots to 15th place. If we swapped receiver groups with Seattle, it would go to 64.2% and move him all the way up to 9th best in the league. Not bad.
Here are some other Stafford stats, since I was looking them up:
Stafford is 5th in the league in completions, #1 in pass attempts, #1 in passing yards, #7 in yards/attempt, #3 in TDs, tied for 5th most in INTs, #3 in yards/game, tied for 27th in sacks (crazy considering he has the most pass attempts!) and has the 2nd longest pass of the season... and is only 25 years old!
Stafford will soon become the Lions all-time leading passer...if he hasn't done so already.
He is the future of out franchise. The mistakes that he makes can be corrected by good coaching.
He is still a raw talent who needs seasoning. All of the players that surround him also
make mistakes that good coaching can correct. Dropped passes is one of those mistakes.
5% pt between 25th and 9th for completions.
we have the most drops because we pass the most. I'm sure there is a skew we lose in that count.
I like he's not taking sacks but that quick trigger means he is anticipating well. But not always letting the route develope. Or the receiver isn't ready.
Just win baby
Still...I'm happy with a 7-5 record and 1st place in the division.
This division is degenerating. Maybe another tie at Vikes and Bears.
Other divisions are coming out of their funk. Getting better as the season goes.
The Vikes beat the Bears in OT....that gives the Lions @ 7-5 and one game lead over the 6-6 Bears.
The Lions control their destiny as they just have to win three of the remaining four since they own the tie breaker over Da Bears. The division is theirs to lose.
i think 2 more wins and the division is theirs.
Ravens at home
Giants at home
Hopefully...we won't need the road win at Minnesota...
I think we can win the last 3
Winning all of them should guarantee opening the playoffs at Ford Field
Then we need ole Wayne Fontes on the sidelines..........
