IF the Lions lose a home game, I'll be very shocked and disappointed. The only possible loss would be New Orleans who lost two running backs and have issues with TE Graham being upset over his contract. Plus their defense is bad and they seem to be past their Super Bowl prime. The London game is a tossup cuz the Falcons wont be as bad as last year. The road losses will be familiar: arizona Pats Bears and Pack ---BUT they will suprise and win one of those.

My pre draft and pre Caldwell-effect analysis:

    HOME: 7-1
    ROAD: 3-4
    LONDON: 1-0
    TOTAL: 11-5 REALITY: 9-7

The last 4o yards went right down the sideline. I will never forget it. I was numb.

The Pistons are fishing and the Red Wings are about to join them. Slow time in the forum is just around the corner
. But a few of us won't go into hibernation with the rest. Hey, I'm not a cruise director but I like to do my part to keep it live.

It was fun when Slippy did that parlor game but that's a big job. I want to try my hand as a detective instead of the killers but I doubt that's going to come around again.

But I do have an idea for us die hards. Many moons ago when the forum was still in the adolescent years I did a mock basketball draft. Michigan assigned everyone a random number to players and that person would pick who they thought the team that came up would draft. But I had to chase some people around to get that done. But I have another idea.

Is anyone interested in doing a football draft? I was thinking we could decide the picks as a group. We could do maybe a couple or few a day. I suppose I would start a new thread and I guess I would need to do it in the green room? Probably do only one round.

We can do an entire first round and match Our guesses up with Mel Kiper who is a clown and the most accurate projector Mike mayhock and see if we get more right than them.

Anyone participating would be expected to look at a couple of mock drafts to get an idea of what
a team needs and who is available out there and write one sentence to explain your pick. No more than that is asked. You can do as many rounds as you want. It will be very informal.

The more the merrier but I think we need at least four or five. Three would actually be fine as long as they were committed and willing to check in a lot but I'm not sure we can get these.

So please speak up if you're interested.

One pick each. Up to 32. I don't care past 22 but we want to beat those two "experts" so 32.

People can check like if interested. No need to post unless you have questions.

I can't decide whether I made a wrong turn and ended up in F- Troop or Green Acres.

I think it's the usual preseason fluff piece. I've seen nothing from Caldwell's head coaching career that suggests he's good. He got killed while with the Colts for his lifeless demeanor on the sideline while the team struggled. This is now being spun as his being cool as a cucumber. His teams have been better before his promotions. The Ravens declined after he replaced the offensive coordinator. The Colts declined after he replaced the head coach.

Yeah, the Lions went from boot camp to Disney Land. Of course they love him. He's a good guy. Schwartzkopf was a tool.

But sheesh, C J, let him lose his first game before sentencing him to :hanged2:.

Hey, CJ, the Colts also declined after they lost Manning. Coincidental?

Our biggest concern this season is the ability for players to take the lead in the locker room.
I criticized Suh for not being at the off season practices...
Others said that Barry didn't show up either...
Well...we didn't do anything when Barry was here...except lose more games than we won.

CJ, he lost a SB when Manning threw a pick 6.
He took over OC about midseason[@Ravens] and Flacco blossomed and ripped Manning a good one before winning the SB.
Dude will swing for the fences.
    At the right time
