Lawrence Frank is that you?
I agree. You need to keep him well-rested for double overtime.
Ain't it the truth. I loved that play near the end on defense when he cut LBJ off at the top of the key about three times and forced him to give the ball up to Wade. George followed the ball to Wade, cut him off a few times, forced him to pick up his dribble, and then poked the ball out of his hands. Amazing sequence. So close last night. Time for Vogel to earn his salary.
Well, his salary is only $2 million. The Pacers were predicted to be a playoff bubble team. They have already far exceeded those expectations.
Vogel copped a lot of flak for sitting Hibbert. It ended up being the wrong move. It's easy to armchair criticise that decision, but I honestly thought we were going to see 2OT. No way you leave one of the best defensive c's in the game out there to pick up his last foul.
The longer the game goes, the less chance you have of beating the Heat. You can't play for the next OT.
Yeah when you have the lead with 2 seconds left, you have to play to win then and not worry about who might be available in the next OT. Vogel knows he will play that card differently next time.
Poor guy, I don't know how he lives on that.
Remember when Latrell Sprewell turned down $21 million because he had to feed his family?
Yes some players have said some pretty stupid things. But a lot actually do end up broke, its amazing. AI declared bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy? You talkin' 'bout bankruptcy?
he calculated that it was better to guard shooters than the paint with only 2 seconds left. reasonable logic.
Miami gets beat with the King making turnovers in back-to-back possession down the stretch to lose the game. Can't get much better than that!!
What a series! I think most people would have blamed Miami's layoff and G1 history had the Pacers won, but Indiana played better in this game. Indy has a really good team. They might not win another game, but they can win this series. It us going to be really enjoyable to watch Wade's game decline. (Another accidental elbow to the back of someone's head!)
Yep the Lebron goes from the Lion King to the Frog Prince in less than 48 hours.
In thought they were going to lose in the end as they sat on the clock too long (due to the Heat defense) and took a lot of bad shots with less than 4 seconds on the clock in those last 2-3 minutes of crunch time. When Hill missed those two FT's and Lebron or some Heat player went down to the other end and scored, I thought that it was over for the Pacers then as the Heat looked like they were about to put the game away then.
This is what has been impressive for the Pacers. They're consistently responding to flurries from Miami and regaining control. I didn't really have any issues with Stephenson's shots down the stretch. I like him. He did a nice job staying up on LeBron on D and getting rough with him during dead balls. LeBron is working this series going against he and George. LeBron has a little of the shyness or reluctance that Andre Drummond has to totally unleash himself athletically. I was half expecting him to pick Hibbert up when they were fighting for the ball at one point Please tell me these guys play again Sunday.
I have to say.. I expected Miami to sweep Indiana in 4 games and not because I've never seen the Pacers play, don't get me wrong. I didn't expect this level of mental game from the pacers, every possession is key and they know it and they take care of the ball (at least, try) It's, by far, the best series this far in the Playoffs. When Paul George goes over Lebron like if it was easy and dunked over Birdman, and next to that Lebron answers that with a three point buzzer beater to end the 3rd quarter and laughs and shakes hands with Paul George. In that moment I knew this is a great series. Lebron not fighting Hibbert, and Stephenson not fronting Wade after that cheap arm to the head (Wade is one of the dirtiest players I've seen). That was weird!! I think that the Pacers KNOW that it's not through that kind of game that they will beat the Heat, Chicago tried that and didn't worked. Quickly the refs took Miami's side and it's hard to play when you have the refs against you. They are trying to play it clean. Without fronting and all that. Almost looked like friendly competition for one of the top goals. Pure sports, at least this game 2, can't speak about what is going to happen in the next games. Indiana never gives up, I can't think of any basketball fan who don't like how they are approaching this series against hte latest Champs.
Coach Shaw using his inner Sheed.
I kind of want this guy to coach the Pistons now. Indy's D is really good. Their players fit the scheme perfectly. I like how the added guys like Hill and Sam Young who played in disciplined systems prior to coming there. I can't wait for game 3.
