Siva got criticism for not being able to play PG at the NBA level early on but everyone struggles. at the end of the season it seemed like he played pretty decent on-ball defense. He's limited by his size and athleticism but he fits the culture of where I'd like to see the organization go vs. Bynum who is a true warrior but has a definite 'gotta get mine' mentality.

Siva looks like a 3rd guard to me. I hope he gets a long look by van gundy.

I think everyone on the team could use a culture shift

Nothing wrong with the kool aid. It is nice and tastey on a warm summer day. I have drank the kool aid for years and I just don't have a taste for it anymore.

Anyone that was not injured. Not going to really see him at full speed until 2015 season. Could have traded the pick or packaged with a player to move into the first round. Not going to get excited and lather up in Pistons butter for a 2nd round bench player that won't do anything meaningful this year.

I thought Siva played well at the end of last year. He started knocking down shots and driving and kicking.

If he gets beat out fine, but I'd at least plan on bringing him back.

I've been drinking the kool aid on this kid since before the Pistons were the ones making it. During his sophomore year, I just happened to see him play on TV. I didn't even know who he was, but he stood out. I was impressed enough that I would actually turn on a Colorado game if it happened to be on. He just looked like a NBA player. Before the draft I was hoping that he might be our guy. I didn't think that he'd still be there at #38, ACL or no ACL. This kid is NOT your typical 2nd round bench player. A typical 2nd round player ends up playing overseas. This kid will be in the league for a while, either as a starter or as a sixth man. I see him as a Jarrett Jack type player.

Here's what I like- He's an actual combo guard who can shoot and defend. He's not a tweener. He's a true combo guard. He's not a 6'3 shoot first, shoot second, pass third type of guy who people call a "combo guard", just to be polite. He's not a 6'5 athlete who can't shoot, so you try and make him run your offense sometimes and call him a "combo guard". He can play both positions.

Here's what I don't like- He probably won't be suiting up until after Christmas.

He can halt dribble penetration against both guard positions. He helps and recovers AND closes out on shooters. He's a legitimate pass first, team player. He's a legitimate shooter. He's very good on the break; both passing and finishing. He's very solid running the P&R. He can get into the lane and finish in traffic and/or draw the foul. He can be a spot up shooter at the 2, and run the point when we what Jennings gunning. I love this kid's game. He's perfect for us. He could actually be a 28+ mpg 3rd guard for us.

I just hope he can get healthy sooner rather than later.

We still need a legit 30+ mpg swingman in the worst way. We don't have one. Unless you count KCP, which I certainly do not.

He looked like a legit back up towards the end of last year. He still looks like a 3rd PG to me, at least right now, but he's improving.

Teams were selling their second round picks for cash, exchanging picks, or packaging them with a player to move up in the draft. The Pistons have not been very resourceful using draft day to their advantage. This roster needs a fire sale with Drummond and Monroe the only untouchables.

I don't think any of us want to see the Pistons sell picks for cash when they could be buying high upside players for bargain basement prices like they did.

I think you need a 1st rounder for anyone to take you seriously.

The real Firewowrks will begin this Tuesday.

The Pistons continue to be modeled after one of the greatest periods in history in the Renaissance. With that in mind, it's certainly no coincidence that Dinwiddie shares a birthday with Renaissance virtuoso Raphael.

But on the subject of intellectualism, enlightenment, and the Pistons, I'm aware that some may consider our own Brandon Jennings to be a dolt and of little relevance to those themes. Despite that, I'm inclined to remind everyone that, as an example, one of the most brilliant French poets of all time, Francois Villon, happened to be a criminal and a vagabond.

I understand how you feel about coming to this forum and reading nothing but negativity but the fact of the matter is, there hasn't been a lot of positive stuff to talk about in many years. For me, this is the only place I know to vent my frustrations about my favorite team. Personally, I try to temper my 'venting' with humor and some positive feedback or constructive comments whenever I can.

The fact that we're still here speaks to our Piston fandom.
Our unrelenting Piston fandom give us the right to bitch.

Again, I see what your saying and I hope that you'll spend more time here.
Maybe YOU'RE the guy that can can put a positive spin on things.

    I'll give it a shot. Here's 10 positive thoughts:
    1. Andre Drummond
    2. KCP finished the season strong and has had all summer to work on his shot.
    3. We have a new coach who has had a degree of success in the past.
    4. We have new people making roster decisions.
    5. It appears that we'll see some dead weight trimmed off our roster which will free-up some $$$.
    6. We play in the Eastern Conference where modest improvement can go a long way toward rising in the standings.
    7. By many accounts, we just drafted a guy with 1st round talent in the 2nd round.
    8. We now have the ability to trade a future 1st round pick if we need to.
    9. We still have a bacon thread.
    10. Our starting PG takes Ecstasy which should help him develop positive team chemistry.

I love all these points. I know you covered the freeing up of salary, but I would like to add a more specific "no more Charlie Garbage" being associated with the Pistons. They should retire his number and remove all photos, references, etc. from the Palace archives. He's dead to me. Dead to me!

Has more money ever been paid per ounce of production to a non injured player acquired through FA?

When you roll Ben Gordon's contract into that equation, it's staggering.
A healthy Gordon "sat-out" the remaining year of his contract in Charlotte and saw very little floor time.

Never has so much been given for so little.
