So I guess this wraps things up for Acker and the Pistons? Backcourt is getting crowded.

did the Pistons even work him out?

So Tay still doesn't have a backup.

This team is still lacking a pure passer.

The bench is still lacking perimeter shooting.

    This is ridiculous.

I was hoping for Splitter as well. The Spurs ended up taking him 1 pick after us at 28.

Do they know something we don't? They seem to do well with overseas players.

    Only time will tell...

Of course. Joe has always touted Ackers game.

    Apparently, that means he stinks.

According to ESPN he has HUGE buy-out problems. They sey he likely will not be able to come over this season.

The announcers were really lukewarm when giving an overview of this kid. He sounds like he's not much of a shooter from 3 point range, can't get his own shot and why did we pick him? Surely there was a point guard out there that we could nab (Jared Jordan comes to mind). Is Joe got some trades in mind and that's why he picked Afflalo. I'm not impressed with our draft picks tonight but I'll hold my tongue for now.

JMax is the backup for Tay
    Stuckey is an excellent passer
Affalo can shoot from the outside.

    Two good first round picks

Blalock and Acker are probably out at this point with Murray being first off the bench at the guard slot unless they trade him.

I like the way the back court is shaping up. Front court still needs some work.

    :hoops:

    He's a bigger Chauncy Billups.

Joe was looking for a change of pace off the bench, and he's got it. If they come along well, you could sit CB & RIP with Stuckey & Affalo holding the fort with the reserve bigs.

    Missing Pieces:
    1. Backup SF
    2. Center or banger in the post.

You lost me with JMax is a backup for Tay. :)

I'm finding it impossible to see Stuckey through all of Chad Ford and Joe's Kool-Aid. Let's hope I'm wrong.

As for Afflalo, why is everyone else saying he can't shoot from the perimeter? If his three point range is sketchy, he can't shoot from the perimeter.

I think JMax can handle that SF spot. He did have some good moments guarding LeBron. My only concern with JMax at this point is his free throw shooting, but notwithstanding that I love his agressivenss.

    Second unit of:

AJ, JMax, Murray, Stuckey and Affalo would certainly be able run with the best of them.

    :hoops:

I believe that he did this last year. Didn't he guard LeBron during the playoffs?

    :hoops:

    So did Chauncey.

I guess that means we have 3 small forwards now? (Tay, JMax and Billups)

    Did you watch the playoffs?

Right now the second unit looks like:
Flip, Stuckey, Super Dupe, JMax, and Amir. With Afflalo in the NBDL.
    This is not improvement.

Joe has Amir as Tay's backup.
