I agree about this when it comes to a team like Chi, but we LOSE the 3rd qtr almost EVERY GAME! I just wanna know what it would look like if we could simply WIN THE QUARTER, heck if we just din't lose the qtr or get outscored by double digits I'd be happy. Sorry but this has to be more than just, the other team is better than us, there is something very wrong causing this problem and somebody needs to get to the root of it. IMO I do not feel as if Q comes out with his best coaching effort, I think he needs to take his coaching and passion to another level in the 3rd qtr. He seems to ALWAYS do the smae thing and expect a different result. You know whats funny, under Curry we had awful starts and came out after halftime and usually won the 3rd qtr (and lost the game), go figure.

Here are the stats, which confirm the thread thesis:

    Qtr: Det/ Opp
    1: 23.1/ 23.9
    2: 25.3/ 24.5
    3: 21.5/ 25.3
    4: 23.4/ 23.8

So, our average halftime score is 48.4 to 48.4

Very interesting. We are a .500 team in the first half.

One possible explanation for the strange 3rd quarter disparity is that teams coast against us in the first half. They pull away in the 3rd quarter and then they step off the gas in the 4th (on average) because they have it wrapped up.

This might not mean that Kuester is a bad halftime motivator or that he's not making adjustments, just that the other team wakes up a bid and realize that they need to get down to business.

That's just it! If we could actually win the 3rd qtr, we'd could be a .500 or maybe even a +.500 team, I don't know for sure, but since we ALWAYS lose the 3rd qtr, we'll never know, I wonder what our record is in games where we win the 3rd qtr./

I'm saying that if we found a way to win the 3rd quarters, then our 4th quarters would be worse.

We are simply the victims of other team's switches.

Clearly the halftime beer pong strategy isn't working.

I am hoping that a total off season with Kander improves Monroe's explosiveness. He needs to get to the point where he can dunk some of the passes he gets cutting in the paint instead of trying to lay them up.

Wouldn't mind seeing some of his rebounds slammed back as well.

I would love that, and hopefully the fact that he is so young and so big he just hasnt had the chance for his strength to catch up to his girth. he physically reminds me of a young elden cambell...I think he will benefit from a full offseason with Kander and he will be slamming more next season. He has already shown more explosiveness( I use that term loooooooosely) since the season began. He just looks like a young foal outh there when his legs abandon him on long strides or quick moves that require that burst of strength.

Nope. It just isn't his game, let me warn you, if you keep looking for him to be something he's not you're going to be extremely disappointed.

We are all being too hard on this guy. He's only about 6 months removed from a toe surgery.

not directed at you K... just felt like a good place to throw my soapbox

ya we should trade a guy who has 4 straight double double's for somebody who can jump really high and slam the ball.... /rolls eyes.... he's a good player and people need to watch what he does right, not what he can't and won't ever do....

Folks yea he got his shot blocked alot the first month because he wasn't dunking, he's adjusted and now is getting the 2 points... does it really matter how he scores the two points?

Right now, Greg Monroe is the most promising player on the roster. Any other point is moot.

I'd put Jerebko in there with Monroe.

I am not sure we should be putting all this faith in JJ until he actually suits up and plays a few games. Not to say his injury will hamper him or slow down last years exuberant play, but the last year's rookie of the year Tyreke Evans is no where near his first year explosiveness. I know because he has been struggling on my fantasy team all season.:yellowprison:

Perhaps it is you, Dre, that is hampering Tyreke's success.... :stirthepot:
