With the addition of Carlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon our Rotation looks like this: PG-Stuckey/Bynum SG-Gordon-Hamilton/Afflalo/Summers SF-Prince/Daye/Washington?/Summers PF-Villanueva/Maxiell C-Brown As you can see we are now low on bigs. Unless Joe wants Kwame starting he'll shop Hamilton for a starting center with a package that involves Maxiell and then sign some FA's presumably a veteran and maybe Glen Davis but we really need some productivity under the basket.
We've talked about this numerous times. During their run to the ECF they always had good depth up front. It is important, and Joe is going to try to address it. What he can come up with is another thing.
If i were Joe i offer Prince or Rip plus any bench player(s) they want to TOR for Bosh. TOR has long coveted having a real SG or SF. Maybe if they know they are going to lose Bosh next year . . .
I like Chris Bosh, alot, a whole lot, I really want to see him in a Pistons uniform BUT, I'm not sold on him being a franchise player that will one day deliver a ring. This last season D-Wade impressed the hell out of me, Miami was a team full of scrubs and he made them respectable and earned the 5th spot in the playoffs almost singlehandedly............Toronto failed to make the playoffs AGAIN! The only time Wade missed is when he was injured. I like Bosh, but he might be another really great player that never turns great stats into rings! Which very well be why he's talking about playing with LeBron in 2010/11.
I wouldn't mind seeing that. Even is we trade Rip for a big, we still need another backup. Dyess is as good as any.
How much $$ do we have left? Was the Amir move to save $1.7M necessary, considering that we now need to fill the role of backup big man through FA?
It appears that Sheed is already considered 'gone'? Probably will not surprise anybody but I think the Knicks could use Rip since people 'seem' to consider him gone, as well, and I believe that Darko could come over and beat Kwame out for the starting job and leave Brown as the backup. Dyce could be signed for another tour and with Charlie there, it would seem to me to work. DMC can play as he has done against Sheed and Dyce, and he would come back now that he could be needed. Probably will not get any support for this idea, but there it is.
Ok if salary cap is ~59mln and our salary where 39mln and we sign CV and BG for 18mln.We have 57mln.So we have a MLE.This is 5,6mln.
Despite all this talk of Bosh, I think Amare would fit better with these current guys. They would pick-and-roll teams into the ground.
We have more money because we cut Oberto, and Villanueva and Gordon contracts may have an increasing contract,a little more money we could have. This year we don´t need dyess power.Less dyess more young blood,Affalo, dejuan summers,daye... This year we can compete to win,why not trade Rip now,and Maxi in february next year if he can´t improve until two seassons level? but stay under the cap till next year. We need lottery draft to add a center, young, cheap with starter level. i don´t hope we could pick next shaq attack but adding depth and quality to tha roster we really can be real contenders in one more year. Go to playoffs and lost in first o second round is the best we can reach with this guys. Actual roster lacks of depth,i hope next year will be a developpe new detroit pistons, starters and bench ruled by a inteligent coach betwen Zukhov though and rommel ofensive tacticals. Until we have a new big ben or Rodman we lack the defensive barrier 88 mm anti tank gun who defined defensive basis of Rommel...Dertroit need real deep around a big and equilibrated roster.
I'm thinking...no. we have each one splitting time between coming off the bench and gathering DNP-CD with TAY and Maxiell playing 40 minutes up front
