Nice work LK But you left out the Eva hotline red phone :(
Whoops I forgot to mention the Alesis QSR even though I saw it. I actually own one myself.:D
Do your expansion card slots work on yours? I have the Sanctuary card and can't get it to work in either port. I don't know whether it's a defective card or the actual ports. Mine has been giving me some static noise as well and my analog outs are quirky.
Here is my setup. It's changed a little bit since this photo from a few years ago though.
Guilty as charged
Men are gear heads. It's what we do.
Whether it is guns or computers, car parts or audio equipment, men like gear.
ummm...do books count as gear?
LOL. I'm like you in that respect Prof.
Intellectual armour. Sure.
No, not really prof. Sheesh.
Don't you have a collection of hunting knives, or microchips, or fishing lures, or classic motorcycles?
Fishing lures are gear? OK...I like gears.
dang, um. the pen is mightier than the sword there might be some hotwheels lying around from when the kids were young, or a cap gun or something. sigh. i guess i'll just have to be not a man.
excuse me while i go do some of the things i like to do when i'm not reading:
Wow, you give up easy. Don't you have a bunch of artifacts and mementos? I figured you and dba to be the Captain Picard types, with all sorts of old tribal stuff around the house...
I have guitars, audio equipment, amplifiers, records, and one gun. I love gear. Wish I had 10x more of everything.
Oh yeah, I also have camping gear. Survive in the wild!
well i do give up easy. but i guess that's the not-man in me. anyway, not me, no mementos apart from a rock I picked up on Yavin IV and the skin of an Ewok I killed on Endor. Cause he annoyed me.
Basically, i've got very little besides books and not too many of those anymore either. numerous moves have helped me appreciate the value of traveling light.
but ask dba about his roman artifact. maybe he'll be willing to share. here's a hint:
That's beautiful man. I love it.
I actually have been running everything firewire/usb as of late. I haven't had a card for some time. However, when my bass player gets back from Afghanistan, we're going to be building a studio so, I may have some details to chat with you about in a month or two.
I've found that I've had much fewer issues hardware-wise when I went to external ports, but I will probably need to sink some money into a pro tools rig (as much as I hate pro tools) when we get launched.
I'm pretty sure the Roman strigil counts as bathing gear. What about the collection of reproductions of Neolithic statues? And the various wine accessories? And of course the gardening stuff - the big tiller is pretty serious, and we got the cool ramps you use to drive it up into the bed of the pickup truck.
And lots of books about gear.
My "gear" consists of a nice stereo system, my music collection, 4 snowboards, 3 mountain bikes, 1 road bike, my golf clubs, my disc golf setup, camping/backpacking stuff, my Mac and my wonderful television.
Prof, I am really upset that you have labeled yourself "not a man".
I have gone through periods with no gear. And I will probably go through a period of no gear again. I think you are just between periods of accumulation of nerdy stuff.
My only gear is a lawnmower blade. I use it after I eat french fries.
perhaps i was too strict in my reading of the phrase "men are gear heads" and "men like gear". i took the predicates to be defining. so i figured if i didn't have gear and didn't really like gear then i wasn't a gear head, ergo, i was not a man.
but i'm really holding out for books to count as gear
I don't know prof. Are they books about gear?
