Hey Scoe, luv you & the Low too. Where have you been all summer little Bro?

I think Flip will disappear like Casper the Ghost if he don't get his head out of his you know what this season.

You can take that too the bank. Curry wasn't put there for nothing, he is being groomed by the front office man himself.

Curry wants the Pistons job BAD. Remember he already has Asst Coach experience.

That's a concern too. If Curry gets a shot before Laimbeer, I'm disappearing too. What else can Billy do to prove he at least deserves an opportunity? Some things in this world simply amaze me and the idea of Curry getting a chance to coach before Laimbeer is 3 of them.

Curry has coaching experience? I didn't know this. When? Where?

Has Laimbeer ever expressed any interest in coaching in the NBA? Lots of people want him to take over the Pistons, but I have never seen him show any interest in coaching men.

I think that when I watched that special on Laimbeer and the Shock, they asked him a question about coaching the men. And I believe he gave a positive response.

I couldn't find it, but I read another article about two weeks ago where Bill states "coaching the men" is his goal.

I'm pretty sure that it is a different article than the two that TheLow posted.

If Laimbeer isn't willing to be an NBA assistant coach, will any GM take a chance on him jumping directly to a head coaching job?

I believe in the ole' "pay your dues, learn the ropes, etc." school of thought.

This is the problem with Bill - and he's admitted as much. He dosen't really envision himself as an assistant; consequently, he knows that it would have to be a unique situation to have a GM offer him a head coaching job.

There have been quit a few cases of going directly to coach. Isiah, Rivers, .. Its usually the Carlisle type of players that had to be an assistant 1st.

Lamb is qualified, not sure I trust him to keep his cool. Thats the thing.

I agree with armygirl, I'm excited for the new season to start and I can't wait to see the guys in action again. I was still a fan when they wore teal, I'm sure not going to give up now. I have some problems with Flip and I worry about the center position but that's what makes this time of year fun. Nobody really knows how the season will work out.

I think Laimbeer may have hurt his chances to coach the Pistons just a little by losing in the WNBA Finals. The biggest thing he has had going for him is the ability to adapt and win in the playoffs, he has always pushed the right buttons and won every finals until now. I hope he is still number one on the list when Flip wears out his welcome.

OH yea, I definitely agree with you hear. Laimbeer has proven himself, over, over, over and over again. I can't imagine what he needs to do to convince the higher ups that he s the man for the Pistons next coaching vacancy (by the way, I hope will be sooner than later).

By no means, will I put Curry over Laimbeer for a head coaching position.

That has always been my stance on Laimbeer.

I like Laimbs too and I believe he'll do well as a head coach. However, the concern that was expressed is how his personality would mesh with the superstar crybabies in the NBA.

I'd rather find out than to continue riding the "Flameout Express" with Coach KFC.

Believe me, I would to. I am dying to see the day when Laimbs can steer the ship, but unfortunately it is not up to us.

Exactly. He wouldn't even have to move his office. Is it possible for Joe D to fire Flip and hire Laimbeer without Davidson noticing? How good is Davidson's vision?
