Knicks president Donnie Walsh demonstrating fiscal responsibility -- Newsday.com
Zach Randolph is a bad person. If Joe did a trade like that, it could be the tipping point for me.
I don't know if your being sarcastic LOL, but that trade would absolutely make me question my fandom.
I don't think Roscoe is being sarcastic. This guy is not someone you want around the team at all. I remember reading about his nefarious behavior. Sheed is 100 times a better person.
I don't like Zach Randolph. Not even 1%.
It's false. What's this "monitoring" mean ? They already have a long ass summer to monitor and now wish things would be changed in 2 weeks ?
I don't know that much about his off-court stuff, but i've always disliked him and his game. He just screams trouble to me.
I think you nailed the description of Zach some time ago when you (at least I am pretty certain it was you) dubbed him the "Evil Elton Brand". Perhaps Joe needs to do this to show the rest of you that he is insane.
I think it means that teams are watching closely to see if Zach does something stupid.
Yeah...that would be the upside.
You just can't trust those dudes from Michigan State

I guess if I wanted to play devils advocate I could posit that if Michael Curry is as good as folks think he is Zach Randolph won't be a problem.
Zach is a decent player, but he is immature and is not a team player. He is not willing to do what it takes to win. He doesn't stay focused during the season and puts his needs over the teams. Although, if Sheed is out of gas maybe it is worth getting something for him. I think the Pistons do have the leadership around here to keep Zach in line. Sometimes a guy needs a little tough love although I don't know if the Pistons are tough on each other anymore based on the last 3 years playoff performances. So now I have just second guessed myself. Bringing Z-BO on board is a bad idea.
Zach kicks puppies after each game.
Monitoring Zach as in watching him through the preseason. I guess both Joe and Cavs GM are impressed.
This is where Dumars' oft celebrated fiscal restraint kills DET. A team like the Knicks is begging to be pilfered here, but DET would have to trade one of their main pieces for him. If they could add Zach for expiring clutter then they would get better. Rasheed's expiring contract that everyone talks about isn't going to allow them to retool. What team is going to give up a young player of any value who's signed for Sheed's deal? The players you're looking at are the Randolph's and Marbury's of the world.
If Joe can make it include Jason Maxiell for David Lee too....then it might be interesting. Also thought, I'll add a poll.
We don't have the expiring contracts to get this done without using Sheed. If we did get Zach, I'd want it to be something like Dice, Brown for Zach. But, I don't think that would work.
And i would say Micheal Curry is not god. Zach Randolph is not a good defender and there's no way to turn him into Sheed. I think we've already tried that "hey, who cares about defense, let's outscore everyone" thing with Flip Saunders. If they are, they need their heads examined. I don't know what would be so enticing, the Knicks W-L record, Zach's defensive dominance, his team play ? There's a reason PORT looks so much better w/o him. This is probably not worth stressing over anyway. If Joe D's track record is any indicator, Randolph is not coming near the Pistons.
