My words. Sheed fits too well to the Pistons to trade him. Only problem is that without significant changes, the Pistons will only compete, but not win the ship.

I came to this conclusion watching Sheed play Dalembert and DaHo in last years playoffs. I was rewatching it yesterday, and while we have a lot of big men to take fouls, Sheed is the only elite big man defender in this league. He is literally the Bruce Bowen of power forwards and centers.

His ability to front, pull the chair, recover, block shots, and challenge on the offensive end make him one of the most unique players in the NBA (forgetting about the treys).

Yes, he's a clown. But he's also irreplaceable. We have to face the KGs, Boshes, JOs, DaHos, Dalemberts etc. Who is going to frustrate DaHo? Kwame Brown with stinky breath? HA!

Studying tape, eh? If you swapped KG for Sheed last year does DET win? I say no.

Sheeds a whipping boy because he does goofy stuff, he's the loudest and most obvious personality on the team and his most rare gifts are not quantified on the stat sheet, where people place too much value IMO.

Sometimes it's the stats of the man he was guarding that tell the story.

I think Rasheed has some of the best hands on the defensive end that I've ever seen.

No, it's not a man crush. The only Piston I might have a man crush for is Max.

As feel as though we are Sheeds hostages in a way. Take him off the front court and the only thing we have left is an aging Dyess and a whole lot of hope.

Besides Sheed and Antonio, who else isn't going to get schooled by KG? We pretty much need him if we plan on getting past Boston in the playoffs.

My only concern is Amir vs. Perkins. There is no way he is strong enough to be anything more than a practice dummy inside against Perk. Considering KG's range it will be Prince boxing out Pierce and Amir trying to box out Kendrick, which will likely end up in more of the same when we meet unless Curry finds a way to make GT look productive for a series.

Everyone gets schooled by KG but yes Amir will have to step up if we are to have a chance at beating Boston - unless you are Kwame Brown beleiver. And nothing against Maxiel, he is solid role player.

Think of it this way, Amir can beat Perkins down the floor every single time. If you watched the ATL series, Perkins was mostly a non factor. They neutralized him and did with speed. They are even more undersized than we are.

I thought about that and then came to the conclusion that this team better not start running and gunning. I don't think Detroit's style is going to help Amir win a matchup against a guy like Perkins. Hopefully I'm wrong.
