And I'm even home on 10/10 for the draft. Keen.

Yep, I do enforce a weekly move maximum. It will be the same as last year. I'll post all of the settings soon. So far the only change appears to be the number of GMs and the new day of free agent option (should we choose to implement)

It likely will be the draft date unless there is a massive uproar from the managers. :)

In case you were curious, this is the 6th Year of the Advanced Fantasy Basketball League! Below I have listed the top 3 finishers of each year since the 2004-2005 season. A couple things jump out at you when you look at the list. There have only been 3 champions in the 5 year history of the league. Pretty impressive. #1Pistonsfan and TWOTIMESRALPHI have dominated the Advanced league with 2 back to back championships a piece, but LA Dre has finished in the top 3 more than any manager in Pistons Forum Advanced League history. Webz has also been impressive with 2 top 3 finishes in 5 years. If we can somehow coax #1Pistonsfan out of retirement this could be one of the most interesting fantasy basketball seasons ever! Will we have our first 3 time champion? Will LA Dre join the illustrious 2 ring club and make a bid for greatest PF.Com fantasy basketball manager ever? Will Webz finally break through in win the big one? Or will someone else emerge as champ? Should be an exciting season! Gentlemen...and ladies, please start your engines!

    2004-2005 - Champion - #1
    2nd - Old Miser's Squad
    3rd - FD
    2005-2006 - Champion - #1

    2006-2007 - Champion - Rancho Drebabys

Any chance to get in both the advanced and novice league? If the advanced league needs more people, count me in! If not, I'll just blow through the novice league again, and move up next year.

Of course we'd love to have the current novice league champ in the big boy league! However, you will have to completely make the jump from novice. Novice is designed for those who are new to fantasy basketball. The intent of that league has always been to provide an outlet for those that don't have much experience. It's easy to get discouraged by a relentless group of GMs who already have the game relatively mastered . So, if you are truly ready for the big boys then you can't continue to play with Junior Varsity. If you feel you still need to polish your skills and defend your Novice League title, that is completely understandable as well.

Just let me know, but decide quickly because spots get swallowed up pretty quickly in this league. Good luck! :)

You should play in Advanced, you're obviously too good  to play in Novice again.

Oh, the Big Dog is too scared to come play against the puppies again this year? Didn't you swan-dive almost right out of playoff contention in the last week of the season? :stirthepot:

My Squirrels basically handed the Freethrowers our playoff spot and Hita took advantage. We thought we had the #7 spot on lockdown the last week of the season and my coach took the team on a week-long pub-crawl.

Some alcohol/drug related related arrests were made and a few of our guys found themselves in various 12-step programs.

...and of course, we just missed the playoffs.

Hita, I hope you go slumming down in Novice again this year so my Squirrels can kick the (expletive) out of your guys!

I think it is apparent I need to defend my title. I will see you Advanced teams next year though, thanks!

I think the Novice champ should be obliged to compete with the bigger fellas. I mean, this is like someone from Development-League declining a max contract from an NBA team because he wants to win a ship with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
    Where are these GMs?

After I win this year, I will move up next year. But, hey, even I will admit that my victory last year COULD have been a fluke. We shall see after this year! I did have the number one draft pick, and Lebron did help me quite a bit.

I had one season in Novice before I got to the Advanced; don't let MotownPrides intimidate you, he's probably trying to avoid getting pounded by a rookie. :D

Ha! I welcomed him to the league with open arms, Ralphi. I love the competition! And as for you... I wouldn't be so cocky Ralphie, you have a target on your back! :)
