From McCoskey's blog Ambushing Afflalo DETNEWS | Weblog | Pistons Blog So mean
Whoever was responsible for informing him, should be fired. Immediately.
I thought this was gonna be an article about the signing of Juan Dixon.
It was probably Sheed's job.
I'll fall on the sword for a 20th-something pick.
Seriously though, they had the same problem when they switched airports on the way to BOS. How hard is it to get 15 guys to the same place at the same time?
I like that he got there on his own on time anyway. Afflalo is so easy to like. I hope all this stuff we're always hearing about his work ethic means he gets a lot better in the offseason, because I like the guy a lot and hope he succeeds.
Once again, this reminds this old-timer of a situation in past. During the Berlin olympics, Howard Cosell was on the reporting staff and although he was a tough old codger, opinionated and all that, I liked him. Then, one of our relay runners missed a meet and the team was disqualified from a race they were supposed to win going away. Well, it was someone's fault and that was determined to be the person assisgned to getting the info to the team so that they would be on time. ] The guy felt terrible and rightly so. But up steps Howard Cosell and he got the guy to consent to an interview on the air. Cosell proceeded to chastise the guy unmercifully. He abraided this man, a hard-working member of the staff for a good amount of time, and afterwards continually referred back to the guy by name, demanding that he be fired immediately and sent back home at his own expense, and all these other terrible comments. That was the day I stopped liking Howard Cosell.
