Agree ...all that laughing and joking with Flip Murray Mo Cheeks and the sixers was not needed. They were trying to be loose, but they were not serious, especially once they got the double digit HT lead and then the mid 3rd qtr 15 point lead. Cockiness lost series in 2006 and 2007 that they should have won and if they don't come to play with some seriousness, they will be bounced again earlier than expected......Where is LB, when we need some disipline around the Palace!!!

Hopeful...this was the hard slap in the face they needed to wake up out of their false sense of superiority. I'm glad it happened early because it could result in a longer lasting change of attitude. However, I was unhappy about the play of McDice and Chauncey in particular. I was also unhappy about the fact that when they needed points in the end they settled for jumpers. Why did they not drive to the basket for safer shots and the possibility of a foul? This team desperately needs someone who can get to the hoop.

I guess one question does come to mind. How can a "disinterested" team win so many games during the regular season and then do so poorly in the playoffs. It makes no sense. If anything they would at least play as well in the playoffs. That tells me that the talent isn't there. But did you see that 2nd quarter? C'mon, that's not it. So I'm like totally confused.

Yeah, it's the players but also the coach needs to make sure they make adjutments or don't lose focus...whatever.

I guess we should call the post season the PLAYOOFS with this team.

That's the problem with this team. They ALWAYS need a wakeup call.

Either Philly played well or we LET them play well. I can't decide which.

Philly beat us twice during the regular season. We already had our wake up call. We just keep hitting snooze. Sorry for the mixed metaphor.

I feel angry. Mainly at myself for actually believing that this was going to be different. Pistons should still be able to move on, but it just doesn't look good.

We could potentially play 28 games this post season and still come away with the title. This was 1 game. 3.5%. That is the equivelant of being 1 minute and 43 seconds into a basketball game.

Yeah, theoretically speaking it's still all looking good. Even though the statistics would tell us otherwise.

80% of teams that win game 1 go on to win the series. That is because the better team usually wins the first game.

We need to look at this stat: what % of heavily favored teams go on to win the series after dropping game 1. I would guess that is probably also in the 80% range.

Probably that is correct. Still, doesn't make me feel much better after the debacle.

    I selected multiple answers:
Confused: I'm confused as to why Joe and Mr D. decided to hire Flip.
    Disturbed: Flip disturbs me.
Anxious: I'll be anxious to get rid of Flip if the Pistons fall short of the Finals.
Concerned: I'm concerned that Flip's twitching will continue to throw off Chauncey at the free throw line. :twitch:

well dice said that after the game some players didnt believe how they could lose this game. I hope that those "some" are certain starters who obviously didnt take things very seriously.

P.S contrary to most belief, flip adjusted strategy when he saw that sheed isnt double-teamed, but billups and rip decided to miss even from charity line.

Such strategy has not found yet what makes players to HIT shots "from overnight". Every coach would happily use that...

I didn't see suicidal as a choice so I went with disappointed. Philly didn't win because DET didn't take them seriously. Philly won because DET hasn't shown that they can beat the "new" 76'ers.

Wed. and we should all be singing a different tune. Our starters and our team will jell into the playoffs. We weren't going to sweep. The last two years we started incredibly and flopped. I am going to wait until Wed. Our first unit was not tough game ready as it has been too long since they played a meaningful game.

By the second round, yes, we have to be at another level...

    Spot on.

We will continue to show this until Flip stops twitching, and plays the right players. I don't think lack of effort was the problem at all either.

Mo Cheeks had a sound strategy for this game and made great adjustments.
