It's really not that simple. Some games Lebron might only score 5 points in the first half, then break out for 30+ in the second half. You never know if someone "doesn't have it" or is just about to break out and go on a tear. That's why the coaches get paid the big bucks to make those decisions.
You play basketball with a torn rotator cuff? :nono:

Hey Roscoe, what do you think about this? Is someone ratting AI out from within? I guess it is an easy conclusion to draw, but there's no way the team can't know that their media people are suggesting he is dogging it.

This is from Joe's boy Wojo today. That would be some plan they pulled off to get Rip back to starting. I guess tonight's broadcast might clue us in, but if he's really hurt you would think a higher up would support this.

Is this top 40 ranking something the L put out? I only remember the top 50 which came out around the L's 50th anniversary and AI had only been playing for a brief time.

I don't know Ernie. I just know what has happened before, and with the same characters involved, it's very possible it could happen again.

What would the higher up support?

Now if we can just trade Iverson for Darko and put Sheed at the 4, it will be fine.

Oh, yeah. Wouldn't work. Darko makes too much money ;)

    I'm looking at the facts.
    • AI is likely leaving Pistons this summer.
    • If he does, he'll do it for a team that is contender. He ain't signing with the Grizzlies or Thunder.
    • Any contender will have an established team and would be looking for that extra oomph to push them over the edge, meaning they will need Iverson to play a specific role in an established offense/defense.
    • Coming off the bench for the Pistons and being successful would be really good way to prove to potential suitors that he's fully capable of playing whatever role they would need him to play.
When I think about all of this, it would be a sensible move for him to play hard coming off the bench.

So, I think he's really injured and all the conspiracy theories the mediots are printing are just basketball flavored versions of Jennifer-is-gaining-weight-because-Angelina-adopts-babies type tabloid fodder.

That AI is indeed hurt. It seems the Kennedy assassination would be easier to pull off than AI hurting his back a week before he got moved to the bench.

    Which Kennedy assassination? ;)

I don't know if AI is really hurt or not. I hope he isn't hurting. Maybe he's pulled himself, maybe the Pistons have froze him. I dunno. Maybe he's really hurt, and that's unfortunate to say the least.

We're not going to do anything in the playoffs in a 7 game series against a good squad without our little ball of chaos. He's not a guarantee, but he's a slim ray of hope.

    I thought this quote was really interesting given the fact that alot of people are behind giving Laimbeer a shot at the head coach position;

From the DEN Post not a DET paper which is odd . . .

Just one more reason why this guy should have been the coach.

For once, someone who's not going to keep dropping that "By the time the playoffs roll around, they'll have X figured out." mantra.

Laimbeer is too much the straight shooter for the NBA.

If you follow him in the WNBA, he's always getting himself in trouble. Sadly, the Pistons need someone to own up to reality, so that changes can be made to push the team forward. Indirectly, that quote is a critique of Dumars' thinking behind the trade.

Yeah, that Doris Burke/Laimbeer fight is classic! The WNBA IS BILL LAIMBEER!
