Now the Around the Horn Crew on ESPN is spreading rumors that we have seen the last of AI this season and he may just shut it down to get his back in order??? The plot thickens...
How about if we balance it out with one of our own wrong predictions. I feel bad about ripping on Rip at this point. I have no doubt that AI is really hurt. He plays through most stuff.
That is much more likely. Also, if you are going to be thrust into a new role, you don't really want to look like a fool doing it, which would be possible if he could only give 70%. You would run the risk of having people think that you have lost it or that you are tanking.
He's not solely the problem. He didn't play in the ECF the last 3 years. He didn't miss the 7 game winning streak. These guys playing this well without Ivo, with Stuckey instead of Chauncey leads me to believe they really underachieved the last 3 years. Maybe they have been underachieving this season as well. And that would also not be Iverson's fault.
We haven't had many great wins this year. The 7 game win streak was weak sauce. This win streak is great, because it's such an about face, but the teams we are playing have not been at full strength. What I'm getting at is that I think the game against the Lakers earlier in the season was this squad's crowning achievement. And I was at it! The only game that I went to and it turned out to be the best one. :winner_first_h4h: Yay for me. On the road against a great team at full strength and we dominated it from start to finish.
I'm not mad. I just thought it was funny you felt compelled to toot your own horn after this post, http://www.pistonsforum.com/188707-post25.html
I agree and why rush him back in if the team is playing well...he might as well stay out til he's a 100%..Thats kind of what happened with Rip when he hurt his grown...Plus I really don't think AI cares too much about this team anymore anyways...
That's kind of an insult to AI's professionalism. You think AI has thrown in the towel and doesn't care? I give him more credit than that.
You need to go to more Pistons games....maybe you can fill the seat for Joe until he gets there?? I been to two games this year and they won too? (Clippers and Warriors) Maybe I should go on the road and carry Arne Kander's banana concoctions.
So it took three different medical opinions to conclude he had a sore back? He doesn't have a nerve problem or a slipped disk. Perhaps I am reading into this too much, but coupled with the fact that they barely acknowledged him during last nights broadcast and gave no estimate of a return, something doesn't seem right. I hope I'm wrong.
Would AI be O.K. finishing out the year on the bench hurt but still getting a ring? Does he have to play a certain number of games for us in order to get one? Don't laugh; anything could happen!!
