My guess is that Rip has to go. If nobody wants him now then I think they will once the season begins and their starting two goes down to injury. Then maybe a deal can be made.
Issue with dealing Rip is that there may only be a handful of teams that have something of value to Pistons to offer in a trade. That kind of limits options. Trading him for an expiring contract doesn't make sense as with salary cap drop there won't be enough Capp Spayce to sign a significant free agent.
Apparently it's a 2 year $3.2M contract. Magic to sign Barnes, bolster bench - NBA - Yahoo! Sports Magic's loading up.
Now, if that was Joe on the other end, I could see him going through with this - why not get two starting quality SG on your team.
Re: All Free Agent Transactions (NBA + Pistons heMinnesota Timberwolves forward Mare) How much did Sean May get paid? Says he turned down a 3.8 million dollar offer...
Re: All Free Agent Transactions (NBA + Pistons heMinnesota Timberwolves forward Mare) Sac sucks and all they can pilfer from free-agency is Sean May, a guy who literally has done NOTHING in the NBA, and folks think that the Wilcox deal is a bad one. Joe's the man, only RC Buford and Jerry West can mess with Joe in terms of office mgmt. People in Bos will be pissed in the 2010/11 season everytime they watch them old Celtics take the floo and Al Jefferson is recovered and going nuts on the league.
Re: All Free Agent Transactions (NBA + Pistons heMinnesota Timberwolves forward Mare) OK, no need to quote me in your rant.
Re: All Free Agent Transactions (NBA + Pistons heMinnesota Timberwolves forward Mare) Sorry it's not a shot at you. I was trying to show people what REAL incompetence looks like during the off-season, and this is a perfect example. Just imagine if instead of Wilcox being the last signee it was Sean May.
Well, I guess he is worth that. I wouldn't mind picking him up for 800,000 a year, one year contract. Looks great compared to Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry money.
