Could be a good play for the Pistons to keep Ben in a Bulls uniform for a lot of money. Without doing the research, I'm betting this move could take the Bulls out of the 2010 sweepstakes.

Charlie Villanueva? God dangit. If we're not going to have a real starting center beside him, someone that actually tries on defense, then I hate it. I'd rather have Hedo (if it means that Prince goes on the block for a big)

At least you KNOW Millsap is going to play in the post, regardless if he's really even that good...

Looks like lots of things are just that - rumors. Let's not get hopes high or get upset since at this point no deals have been made.

Pistons & Gordon to sit down later today

NBA.com: Patience the key as free agency gets underway

    FYI - Regarding Davis

Glenn (Baby) Davis will receive a qualifying offer
By Frank Dell’Apa and Marc J. Spears Boston Globe

"Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed yesterday the team will make a qualifying offer to forward Glen Davis.

By virtue of that, if another NBA team were to sign Davis, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet, Boston would have seven days to match it."

There is a very good chance Joe will force a lot of his competitors to sign deals that will hamstring them next season, and take them out of the name player sweepstakes.

If he can get Boston and Chicago to add oversized contracts to retain their own talent, in a shrinking cap situation, that is a dirty form of attrition that bastards like myself can really appreciate.

Joe is just evil enough to do this.

Btw, if anyone sees an announcement of what the cap # is for this offseason, please post it to this thread in bold. It's VERY important info.

The Bulls are actually in great cap shape even if they ink Ben Gordon especially if they can move Kirk's salary.

    Portland offers Hedo 50/5 years

That's the most he's gonna get.

Joe is going to save that "patience" bullcrap and get on the ball. He's going to have to zero in on whoever the eff he wants and initiate.

18 million in cap space is turning out to be a drag. Not even close to what it was advertised as by the Pistons shillwriters.

Yeah it shocked me too. If they were really smart, they'd send Kirk and a 1st rdr to Port for Blake (expiring deal), then they'd have enough $$$$ to make a legit run at Chris Bosh and be a really good team for a really long time.

    You're very impetuous my friend.

Let everyone else blow their cap space prematurely, then Joe can step in and get real bargains when there are is no one left with money to spend above the MLE. His bargaining position gets stronger the longer FA goes on and the less he does.

I learned this the hard way in our Keeper fantasy league this year. The last guy with money, gets the pick of the litter the rest of the way. This is not a FA class worth going big to make a splash in.

But who's going to be left? lol. Are we just going to slum it in 2009? I mean I guess it's possible but it can't be good for business. Are we just going to give out a bunch of one year deals to journeymen?
