I'm more concerned what Port and Toronto are doing, I'm telling you all watch out for that, everything else is a smoke screen. Tor needs a SG and a SF like yesterday, Port wants a vet SF.....we can accomodate some of those needs and free up some $$$$$ that would allow us to do a Max OR Kwame trade for Chandler. Imagine if we got Port to trade Outlaw or Martell Webster for Tay staight up, that gives us a young wing player, and ultimately leaves us $10M under the cap. Which means we can do a lopsided trade to relieve a cap strapped team's payroll (New Orl's and Utah). Now we can send KB to NewOrl's for Tyson. NewOrl gets a center and shaves $8M off their payroll and gets under the Lux Cap.
how bout just do a 3 team trade like this Portland Gets : Prince Toronto Gets : Hamilton Outlaw future 1st from Detroit Detroit Gets : Chris Bosh should also leave room open to pursue Dyess and possibly someone like Shawn Marion.
Because you're not accounting for the main variable: Hedo. it depend on what Hedo do.....If Port signs Hedo, they don't want/need Tayshaun. If Tor signs Hedo, they don't have the cap space.......last-but not least -TORONTO IS NOT GOING TO TRADE CHRIS BOSH!!!!! Get off of it people.
Naw, I ain't hatin, I'm trying to help y'all get a clue. New Orleans and Utah's payrolls are HUGE, the owners of those teams are not comfortable with a bloated payroll that will force them to pay the Lux Tax in a year where overall revenue will be down significantly. If we don't come up with a trade that puts those teams under the Lux Cap, forget about it; BUT-BUT-BUT, IF we can dump Tay or Rip's salary then we can do some thangs, Tor, Port and OKC are the keys to this happening.
We don't know that, and from all the recent banter coming out of Toronto over the last couple of months, it has sounded to me like it could be a possibility.
Question. Do we still have the MLE once we go over the new cap after we sign our draft picks? because I heard people say Joe waived the MLE for the caproom. I'd really like us to have the MLE b/c someone said on another forum that Detroit is a possible destination for Shawn Marion and that they heard this on the radio.
I don't think you can waive your MLE and get anything. Except maybe the benefit of not having to pay it out. Its hard watching other players now signing for the MLE here and there. The only silver lining is that maybe JD can wheel and deal since he secured his FA's early.
How does exactly MLE work? And how do you earn it or lose it? Would any resident salary cap pro here explain? Thanks in advance.
To that great country and continent that you reside: look for some subtleties may not be obvious: think islands as opposed to land mass. In my mind, the Turk situation will increase and cloud over a situation that is hard for Toronto to accept: Bosh will be leaving next year. Nothing against this great cosmopolitan city; it is bouncing against USA media attention from childhood to adult imagery. Bosh's demeanor and his dress is similar to the attention that LBJ now commands, and of course, true to media professionalism, he wants it too. It ultimately does not end in Toronto or Detroit. There are, however, distinct subtleties that are to Toronto's advantage. The world will continue to expand beyond the USA, (without the attention of it's myopic citizenry), and basketball boundaries will soon expand by sheer INTERNET connections/linkages. One may think no further than the international game of hockey. As an aside, it is no quirk of happenstance, that the Wings have a tremendous organizational advantage by tapping into this world-wide wealth. As I am full of asides today, it might behoove the Piston organization to duly respect and commute a relationship that respects the closeness of boundaries. No, it won't begin with Bosh and his coming over to the dark side. However, it potentially would bring an organizational strength (serving both cities) in transitions that are generally met with the velvet fist: [People] have to make themselves predictable, because otherwise the machines get angry and kill them. Gregory Bateson
It could, but definitely not going to happen this summer. Bosh has never stated that he wants out of Toronto.
