actually Im pretty sure last season Bosh said he wont resign with Toronto basically saying he doesnt like it in Toronto and that he wants out first chance he gets.
The article G-Man posted about Phoenix being interested in Dice got the old trade beanie twirlin' :nerd2: S&T Dice, a signed Twiggy (Daye) & Jmax for Amare It clears over 4 Mil for the Suns and gives them two prospects instead of just losing Amare in a year. It's not a great loss for the Pistons... worth the gamble that Amare would want the extra bird right $'s. C- Amare, Kwame (used when needing beef) PF- Villano-D, Amare, Summers SF- Tay, Rip, Jerebko or Afflalo SG- Rip, Gordon, Afflalo PG- Stuckey, Gordon, Bynum Average score 150 to 149 we win :?)
Merc I can't see how that works financially, Amare is getting $16.4M which means that we have to send out around $13M what's Daye getting $1.5M + Max $5M + Dyess $6M (and that's a stretch) we still need to pony up a few dollars. I couldn't see Phx doing that, they seem to be stuck on Golden State's crop of youngn's. But I'd send them Tayshaun, Tayshaun's little brother Twiggy and Max in a heartbeat for Amare and hell just let them sign Dyess with their MLE, this trade actually works out perfectly by the numbers, we could always call Portland and pick up an extra SF with our $4M.
Hey KGREG, Storytellers shows that Amares deal for 08/09 is 15 mil... providing we get a minor bump in the cap this week we'll be within the 125%... we could throw in Sharpe or Bynum if needed. Just another attempt to relieve the bordom waiting for Joe's next step. Pretty safe bet Amare will be moved this year to an Eastern team.... I'd prefer his agressive style over Chandlers defense.... more value per $.
$12m (Chandler) is a lot of money for a guy with no jump-shot and no go-to post move. I think we saw how that worked out with Ben. $5 million for a DPOY type player is a steal. $12m is cap suicide.
With an offseason trade do we go by the 08/09 salary or the 09/10 salary. I feel ya Roscoe, the more you think about Chandler..........there more you say, nah I'll pass.
Good question, but I'm sure it would be the 09/10 season? I could see it being either to be honest, lol.
My bad guys... I was indeed looking at the 08/09 column... daam Oak is expensive.... Well back to the diamonds in the ruff idea... is there a thread on that?
Popovich is great,Haislip is very good ofensive player. If he can adapt to nba three point range, in unicaja málaga have been a long range menace and spectacular jumper and dunker. His defense is similar maxi, block shots but lacks the weigth of maxi. Is a steal at minimum veteran salary, another bencher to his veteran team. Article not speak about top european free agents players,Ersan ilyasova signed by bucks,or David Andersen in way to atlanta hawks, regular players in contrast microwave Haislip.
I'm still having trouble with the Lakers essentially swapping Ariza with Artest. Granted it wasn't a direct trade, but wow. What an upgrade. It'll be quite tough to score against those guys next year. Although Fish is still the weak link.
Fish will be like Lindsey Hunter this year, that spot will be primarily occupied by Shannon Brown (who finally found a team that could use him) and Jordan Farmar.
A lot depends on what Artest will Lakers get. If his head is in the game then they'll definitely be better. However, if he's off his meds...watch out...
It's just funny that with all of our character studies on Artest, the NBA champions, the best player in the game, and the best coach in the game all wanted him to join their team. And this was after Kobe and Artest got very chippy in the playoffs this year.
From other forum: quote: The Jazz need to do something to clear space to keep Millsap. The Pistons need more pieces. Utah gets: Rip Hamilton, Arron Afflalo, and Walter Sharpe ($13,447,660). Detroit gets: Andrei Kirlenko and Kosta Koufos ($17,666,040). This clears about $4m for Utah to use in order to keep Millsap. It gives them an all-star SG to match with Deron Williams, and doesn't require them to give up either CJ Miles or Ronnie Brewer. Miles and Brewer can both play the 2 and the 3, so one could start, and the other could back up both Rip and the 2, and the other at the 3. Utah PG - Williams / Knight / Price SG - Rip / Brewer / Afflalo / Korver SF - Miles / Brewer / Harpring PF - Boozer / Millsap / Sharpe C - Memo / Collins Why Utah does this? Keep Millsap Add all-star SG Clear Kirilenko's big contract Keep a very versatile rotation, especially at the SG and SF positions For Detroit, this makes a lot of sense. Kirilenko is on the downside of his career, and his contract is bloated. Tayshaun Prince is our most valuable trade piece, so in the event we trade him, Kirilenko would be a perfect stand-in for a couple years while Daye, Summers, and Jerebko adjust to the NBA. Koufos gives us a fantastic guy to groom at center behind Kwame. In 10 games in the D-League this year, he averaged 16.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks. He's big, he has great work ethic, he plays in the post (but he can shoot the ball pretty well for a big guy), and he has great shot-blocking tools. Give him a year or two playing significant minutes as a backup, and I think he'll be ready to be a 15 pt, 8 board, 2 block center in this league. Detroit PG - Stuckey / Bynum SG - Gordon / Stuckey / Deron Washington SF - Prince / Kirilenko / Daye / Summers PF - Villanueva / Maxiell / Jerebko C - Brown / Koufos Why Detroit does this? Gives us a great prospect at center for the future Allows Ben Gordon to start, shows our commitment to him Gives us flexibility to trade Tayshaun, but also great depth DEFENSIVELY at the 3 I think this is a good trade for everyone, and isn't that unreasonable to see happening. What do you think? -------------------------------------------------------- I read this and really like this trade! What do you all think?
Utah needs a lot more than $4 mil to get under cap. They are about this much over before signing Millsap. And I wouldn't want Kirilenko's contract on the team. I believe it would be better to get Boozer for a 1-year trial or get Chandler, who is a proven center with a more manageable contract.
