DETNEWS reports AJ and the Stones talking about a 3 year contract at a total value of 10 million and that there were no other serious suitors. Pretty good value for the kid and offers him a chance at a few more contracts if he pans out. Looks good for hime resigning.

I hope they wise up and stick a 4th year on the contract. The longer we keep him locked up, the better. Pay him more, for more years. In the long run, it is the much wiser move. (and could end up saving us some money.)

I'd like a fourth year option too. My guess is that Amir's guys would want it to be a player option instead of a team option. If that's the case, then a three yeal deal is a good compromise. Personally, I'd rather see four years for 14 million than three years at $10 mill.

Obviously, I think that the kid will be good.

I agree. At that salary Im sure Joe would have even considered a 5th year, but Amir still wants as many shots at multiple contracts as possible,.

It seems pretty much identical to the contract of a player drafted early in the lottery. I'm hoping that Amir turns out to be everything that we are hoping and wishing for, because if he is then Joe will definitely have an excellent blueprint for how to effectively develop young players.

Right amount of money and time on the contract for Amir. He'll prove his worth once Flip starts playing him good minutes.....................

If you are going to pay em, then you got to play em.. unless your name is Nazmo or Darko or Dupree-o

No mention of AJ on this link. Maybe it was in one of the fantasy leagues that someone offered him a contract.

    That's because McCosky edited it.

Seems like this guy, Dumars, has a pretty good handle on things.

Whats up. When I posted the lnk there was a big blurb about Amir and the contract. Is McCoskey getting gun shy about releasing this info early or is something up? Definetily not as confortable as I was

It is kind of funny. When the Pistons and Billups really reached an agreement the News was also very slow putting it on the website. I think they got burned pretty bad and McCoskey isn't going to be like Peter Vescey and just keep putting out bad information...he is going to retreat and play it safe.

Its looking more and more like we will have to wait until October to see AJ play.

I think he will have to fight a bit harder for minutes than if he had played in the summer league.

    :hoops:
