Unless his agent told him to do that to get more recognition. In that case, he cares more about short-term personal financial gain and less about learning first-hand about what it takes to win an NBA Championship.

Either way, I hope he gets to show us what he can do next year.

Amir is with the Wasserman Group.

Name the other current Piston represented by the same sports talent agency.

    dba - nope

TaShawn - close, but no cigar. McDyess and Billups have the same agent if my memory serves correctly. Andy Miller. The same man who reps KG.

Maverick - sorry, there is a current Piston (only one) represented by the same agency.

    Any more guesses?

LanierFan is correct. Ronald Flip Murray is represented by the same agency.

The cool thing is that if you do a Yahoo search on "Pistons Wasserman Group", the second hit is a thread from PF.

(Which provides the website of the Wasserman Group, which does not list any current Pistons players in their roster of high profile players. I guess they don't consider Blalock much of a draw.)

I wonder if the agent will use Amirs upside to get Flip a new contract.

    This could be problematic.

That agent isn't very smart is he? Didn't Flip Jr. give up like 3 million "because he was worth more" and end up signing with the Pistons for peanuts (by NBA standards)?

Maybe I've got my facts confused.

Also, ultimately, it's the clients decision whether to accept an offer and not the agents. But still...what if he tries to get Amir to hold out for some crazy amount?

    Just food for thought.

Wasserman's best-known principal is Arn Tellem, one of the more respected (and powerful) agents around. I'm pretty sure they won't be doing any amateurish stuff. The biggest issue will probably be contract length, trying to get Amir into his next deal as quickly as possible once he's established himself.

There's an interview with Amir on the D-League website. He says he's a small forward.

Also, the Argus Leader has an article about the D-League playoff format: each matchup is a single elimination game, and tonight's game against the Dakota Wizards has implications for seeding.

Huge game from Amir tonight in a one-point loss to conference rivals the Dakota Wizards.

    41 minutes, 34 points (10-17 field, 14-14 line), 14 boards, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers, 5 fouls

Also, Blalock coming through with 1 assist, 2 turnovers, and 6 points on 10 shots!

Sorry, this is about Amir. 14 for 14 from the line??? His shooting form can't be bad if he is capable of that.

Amir is speaking the truth when he says he is working on his shooting as a #3.

He even took a 3 point shot last night. Maybe that is what he meant when he says he sees himself as a #3. LOL

    :hoops:
