Amir would definately help us if he was on the playoff roster this year, the scorers in the Eastern conference are all 2's & 3's and this guy can play D! I know Joe D wanted to devlope him more but this guy is ready NOW!:hoops:

No worries for the SkyForce. A legitimate NBA ready point guard who plays amazing defense will surely be enough to propel them to the D-League championship.

The D-League might want to alter next year's playoff schedule so it doesn't coincide with the last week of NBA games. Prime call-up period.

I don't get this. Let the kid finish out the season and play in the playoffs for the Skyforce. He's not going to play in the NBA playoffs, so why not give minutes to DD and Nazr who need to stay sharp?

    That's a great point. I can't believe they wouldn't think of this.

It is a little unfair to the Skyforce to pull the guy that got them to the playoffs.

Do these games correspond exactly? He should play in both if possible.

If I remember correctly, a player can be sent down to the D-League three times per season. If Amir is called up today, he's used up two stints and can go down one more time.

The Skyforce have two more games in the regular season, tonight and tomorrow. These games have playoff implications (Argus Leader):
Also, there's a new Keith Langlois article about Amir on Pistons.com that I haven't seen here yet:

I guess after looking at that, I would pull him up to the Pistons for all the games until the D-League playoffs start, then send him back for that and let him finish the season there.

With Blalock, the team should be able to win 1 out of 2 regular season games.

Why would you want a bye in the D-League anyway? The goal should be to play as many games as possible.

As long as he called him back, Joe should give Amir 20+ minutes the next 4 games. Anyone know if there is a deadline for when D-leaguers need to be called back to be eligible for the playoffs?

And I am sure you would be saying the same thing about Prince in his rookie year, am I correct? Amir has been playing basketball, a lot. Not up here, but he has been playing. Winning is about putting your best guys out there. Do you really imagine Mohammed should be suited up over Amir? Experience ain't jack vs. far superior skill, far superiour athleticism combined. As far as size, Mohammed is bigger but for his size can't hold his ground worth a darn, so you might as well take the much taller Amir.

You can only be sent down twice in a season.

Amir has already gone to the D-League twice this year.

He's staying with the big club.

This page from nba.com says three times:
Also, Blakely says Chauncey and Dale Davis are inactive for tonight, and a certain someone might start.

Thanks for the info. I like Tay at the point cuz he can handle decently and it screws with opponents game plans...I'm happy Flip is getting creative with the talent. I hope Amir has a solid outing :)

Lets hope AJ is dressed for some action.

The Lakers sent Jordon Farmer down to their D league team a couple of times and two weeks ago he was the first and only player to play in a D league game and a regular NBA game on the same day. He was sent down to play with the d leaguers to help them out.

    Hang on...according to McCosky,
A partial D-League playoff schedule is out:
The Pistons finish the regular season at Boston on Wednesday. So if Will B. and the Skyforcers can beat Fort Worth at home on Tuesday in the first playoff game, Amir will potentially be free to go to North Dakota for the conference final game on Saturday, and possibly the championship game.
