I agree, and I would even add a number 3.

    3. Fan interest in the Pistons was very low when the Pistons picked Mateen. Ticket sales for Cleaves first season were much higher with a big college name on the roster.

So even though he didn't make the team better, I think short term Mateen increased the Pistons revenue, and ushered in a new era of Pistons excitement.

That reminds me of a radio interview I heard a couple years ago. Steve Mariucci gave the Lions rookies ice scrapers for their car because a bunch of them came from southern climates.

I thought that was kind of cute.

Ice scrapers for your car. Geez I haven't seen one of those since before they put electric starters into cars. LOL

Actually, you can see them up in Big Bear in the winter. Big Bear is in So. CA about 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the traffic, from the beach.

In fact it is possible in the winter in Los Angeles to go snow skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon or vice versa and in between the two have time to have lunch with "the beautiful people", in Beverly Hills, though I have never met anyone who claims to have have actually done that.

    :hoops:

Going way off topic here, how many people have block heaters? I saw a truck with TWO in Edmonton.

    DUALIES!

I worried that he may have bolted for more playing time someplace else.

Its been a very good summer so far. A very fortunate summer. No one comming out of the woodwork with huge deals for Billups or Amir to compete with. Not sure what the San offer was but it was probably not anything that Dumars would not have matched.

Getting back to the old days when Dumars used to actually improve the team in the offseason. Compared to the debacles and unfortunate circumstances of last summer this has been a windfall so far.

You guys were talkin' about that it is a surprise that Amir signed here when SanAn would have gave more...But, I dont know, don't you guys think a little? If we were Amir, would we go to somewhat Texas- team and ride horses instead of Pontiacs and GMC-s? Amir should have the same disease as we do...Love. Love to the Pistons. And great respect. Everybody, who is a Det fan, or a playa...Gets this "virus". And this is cool, as the way it should.

We gave Amir his first shot, and offered him a very reasonable contract, that if he's smart, could set him up for life. You can officially end any talk of some insane loyalty he has to the Pistons. He paid his debt to them, and now we'll have to offer him a lot of money if he blossoms to keep him.

She is a married lady now. Hopefully we will stop hearing about their personal lives now.

You must live on the beach

Los Angeles, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I live in the city and I know his year that there were several nights at least that were below 40, during the cold spell.

For anyone interested, McCoskey said that Amir's height at the beginning of the last season was 6' 11 1/2".

I had heard that they were expecting AJ to play center this year or next due to the fact that they had thought he was still growing. I know I read it in a ESPN local article...can't remember when exactly or what link but I will do my best to try to find it. if that's the truth then maybe we have a center for this year.

I wouldn't tell Tony. Somebody pass that on, you know, if you see her.
