For Oberto from the Bucks, following the Spurs trade for RJ.-Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Apparently this needs a little more confirmation, so i'll be on the lookout.
My understanding is we are going to waive FO and clear up more cap space. If it is true, I wish the best for Amir! He needs to much work and we don't have the coaching staff to help him.
So the Pistons gave away a promising young big man and got zip in return. Then Joe is going to take B.J. Mullens in the draft and do what with him? There must be some other moves afoot because the Pistons have no big men lined up and does this mean Sheed, Kwame and Dice are still in the stable? Dang it I liked Amir but under Clueless Curry he was not going to get any primetime playing time so at least the Bucks wanted him. The Spurs did well for themselves picking up Richard Jefferson, he's a really quality player who will thrive under the Spurs system. Something tells me tomorrow is going to be a crazy day with trades and manuevers all over the place. Nothing will surprise me and maybe Chris Bosh is going to be traded to the Pistons tomorrow so Amir was expendable.
Well if true at least Joe is consistently making stupid moves instead of a one time thing. At least we now know what to expect. I wonder if cap space will be a good player as opposed to our other players, cap space, and cap space. editted to dd; I guess i look forward to Amir actually getting PT now.
Wow. I thought Amir would have been thrown in with the #15 pick to move up in the draft. So we have one less asset to trade and get nothing in return of value, but cap space that likely will not be used. GREAT
Yeah, I used to get those feelings too. it looks like he's legitimately looking towards the 2010 bust. We're depleting our trade assets, and even a piece like Amir can be used for some great trade filler.
Good point. I thought that as well. The NBA draft isn't like the NFL where a 2nd round pick will get you a whole lot. I doubt we'd be able to move up by packaging our #15 with one or 2 2nd rounders or even get a second 1st rounder by packaging multiple 2nd rounders. Nobody really wants second rounders or am I mistaken?
Watch it. Joe is clearing cap space which will result in a long awaited but highly anticipated blockbuster trade.
It cracks me up that people think Oberto will be a Piston next year. Draft night is going to be fun this year!
I think that is the plan. Otherwise all of these moves are borderline insane. Hang on to your hats folks. Something is cookin'
What bothers me, is what is it that Joe saw in Amir to make him resign him in the first place? Same with Maxiell.
GOS and all, but rumour says 1/ Amir's agent asked for a trade (my spec; probably related to PT and/or Sheed's status) 2/Joe D tried to package the #15/Amir and coouldn't find anything he liked So if that's true, it negates the whole super blockbuster deal idea although that could still happen.
