I had a scary thought in considering stuff usually comes in threes. Could this be the playoff year of the nearly impossible?

    Strike 1: A 1 seed losing to an 8

Strike 2: A finals champion being swept in the 1st round

Strike 3?: An NBA team losing a series after being up 3-0 :cold:

IT is a distinct possibility at this point. I'd hate to see that, but there are some signs pointing in that direction. 2 out of 3 already came to life. Now, lets hope that Pistons can avoid setting the dubious record.

That would definitely set the table for the easiest championship the spurs have ever won

If the Pistons happen to join this dubious club for 2007, which of the three would be the most ridiculed or remembered (I know which would be the most upsetting to the Pistons fans).

I'd hate to think we'd be able to discuss this thread at great length.
Pistons gotta stop themselves from being in this type of company.

Number 3 would DEFINITELY be the most ridiculed because it's a subject that always comes up when a team is down 0-3. I doubt anyone ever even considered the possibility of 1 & 2 until after the fact this year.

Losing the series to the Bulls certainly would have been disappointing. Losing 4 straight games to the Bulls after winning the first 3 games, though, would be devastating. A major shakeup to the organization of some sort would be in order this summer.

I was keeping my mouth shut on this, but since it has been already brought up I will chime in with my two cents. If they do lose - Chauncey might have to go. He's one of the culprits, and I don't think it's worth to pay max money for a player that won't even put his full effort into the game. Bring in the youngsters and let them play. At least they have passion for the game.
But my main hope is that there's still time to turn this thing around. Keep this run going, resign Chauncey and hopefully compete for 'ship for years to come.

And Stern enforcing 'the rules' at a playoff juncture was him just polishing the silverware. :yellowprison:

They can't stop him when his mind is on the game. When it is not, Gordon gets close to 30 points, he is jacking up ugly shots, and he is not setting up his teammates. Do you want to pay for this kind of inconsistency?

I figured it would be the front court to go first.
If they can't handle 50 year old PJ Brown they gotta go.

TheeTFD, sometimes a defense takes away the primary options from a team and forces secondary players to beat it. Letting PJ Brown get open shots but slowing down Gordon, Hinrich, and Deng worked pretty well, if you ask me. CWebb needs to step it up in further rounds for the Pistons to continue, though.

It sort of makes you wonder why stars are considered stars when they can't make it to the semi-finals. Maybe they are over rated?

Maybe they should just wait and see who makes it 5 straight years and then say, "hey these guys are stars."

Pro Wrestling would be a good sport for all these guys. Then they would always see the most exciting match ups.
