Maxiell's rebound rate is incredibly close to Villanueva's. That is a problem since Max is always in the paint and Villanueva is on occasion.
I would be OK if we sign Maxiell to a cheap contract, as our 4th big men. I want Millsap!!! So our rotation will be : Monroe + Drummond, Millsap , Maxiell.
7/6 is all I really expect. But its really maddeningly inconsistent - which is the point I was making. I would rather pay $5m for someone who will give us similar number (maybe even discounted slightly) but with less variance. Going from 0/3/1blk in a loss to 10/8/2blk in a win is not very useful.
Effort is consistent, just not the results. He just gets surpisingly few shot attempts and rebounds in a lot of games, indicating he may be too small. If I were asked to play his position, I'd probably get about 0 shot attempts and maybe a rebound if I got lucky. That isn't too far behind what he does some nights. 11 games with 20 minutes or more and 1 or fewer baskets made. 15 games with 18:45 or more and 4 or fewer rebs. One of them was 38 minutes and 2 rebounds. 28 games with major minutes and 0 assists. 43/49 games with 1 assist or less. 30 games with 0 steals 31 games with 1 or fewer blocks (15 with 0 and 16 with 1) 32/49 games in single digits.
I love Maxiel's energy, but he could be replaced in a heartbeat. If the Pistons are a playoff team next year and Maxiel is on the team, he needs to be the 11th or 12th man.
Hard to dislike the guy. He's quietly effective like singler. Good role player. We just don't have enough studs yet. However, unfortunatly for max, we do have one that's about to replace him.
This is why I like seven foot, three hundred pound teenagers icing up in their dorm rooms instead of hopping on planes in order to play four games in a week.- Pistons' Brandon Knight, Andre Drummond will face off in Rising Stars Challenge | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com
Andre has been shut down for 4-6 weeks with a stress fracture in his lower back. Real shame. Rest up big man.
Weird. Don't know much about them but a stress fracture in the back at his age sounds really bad, yet FSD reporting tonight that he'll make a 'full recovery' as if it will not likely be a reoccurring issue.
You tried to tell them! And now.... 4-6 weeks. Although I'm happy that this happened as a result of a fall and this isn't some sort lingering injury like spasms.
Glad to know it isn't a chronic issue. Shame that we won't get to see Calderon get to play with him for a while.
