I love how they told him not to do anything physical and he got out there to play a little anyway.

I don't hate Dre, I just hate the way he has been playing this last season.

Maybe with more oxygen going to his brain he'll make smarter choices on the court.

It is unreal that our top 2 players (Reggie & Dre) had breathing problems this entire time.

Playing on one nostril has to be hard. I would compare it to the player, I forget his name, who only had one eye. Should boost the free throw percentage.

Rufus Henry is not a real person. He is a figment of @BallDon'tLie@BallDon'tLie's imagination.

That's pretty insightful stuff - but I'm sure that you can't really read into Drummond's comments that much.

He is still very young, and probably doesn't really know how to respond to these types of questions. The "I needed to be better at getting my guys prepared for these games that we did lose" bit stuck out the most to me. It's a complete non-answer.

I like it too. But if you want to be a leader, you have to lead by examples too.

Shooting better the free throws cannot be achieved just with camaraderie.

When did camaraderie become a synonym for effort? ... Millennials

    Yes. Less talk more walk.

Team performance sucks, so let's do more morale events and trust falls.
In corporate America, that results in even worse morale and lousier job performance.
I don't see how it would be different for a basketball team.

You can have the best camaraderie and still suck badly.

Statements like these just remind you that these are still just a buncha kids. They have no clue what leadership looks like. "Yeah, I'll text them after a few weeks, we'll get together and do some stuff together" ain't leadership.

You wanna lead Andre? You hit the gym the day after the last game of the season shooting free throws. You then do an interview and say things like "the next season starts today. I want to say to my teammates now: I'm here everyday from today on out, and I'll be waiting."

I think taking a break can be healthy.

I remember that Zeke forced Laimbeer to come over to his house (where he had an indoor court) to work on his postgame during the summer. Laimbeer would rather smoke and drink beer, but Zeke wouldn't let him mess around.

Your comment about kids made me think about ASOIAF. Catelyn Stark goes south to treat with Renly. He's encamped with his massive army, and instead of marching, they are playing war games and jousting for fun. She remarks something to the effect of, "They are just summer's boys, playing at war."

Econ 101. You have to produce before you can consume. IMO the only team that has earned a break are the Champs. Everyone else has work to do.
