Joe should have gotten more value from Darko & Arroyo with a sign and trade for Harrington. He is a young proven player and the draft is always a crap shoot. There is a very good chance that the draft pick may never even get close to Harrington's performance.

Anyone reasonably happy about this potential signing must not have seen him against us in the playoffs. This guy is horrible.

Ditto. He's a volume scorer with no intangibles.

Pick one, Chucky Atkins, Brevin Knight, Flip Murray, Tony Delk.

If you give me this choice, I will pick Flip Murray each time.

If you give me a choice between, Marcus Banks, Juan Dixon, Donnell Taylor, Tony Delk, Flip Murray, Chucky Atkins.......I will pick Juan Dixon every time.

We can't have the best of both worlds. I think that guy can break down the defenses. Remember the Cavs don't play defense.

I'd pick Brevin Knight. I'd love to have him back up Chauncey. Chauncey is more of a combo gaurd and a shooter. Brevin Knight is a passing gaurd who drives and gets steals. Thats a great PG combo.

Put me down for one vote for Knight. If we give up DD, we'll need to resign Cato though.

Me too. I'd like to see Knight passing the ball on this team.

I don't think much of Murray's play and we've already tried the Atkins diet. If it worked we woulda stayed on it.

It would be good to get Knight for reasons of cleverness:

Brevin buries a three against Marbury and then retorts, "Good Knight, Knicks"

Knighty night, Celts: Brevin comes off the bench to score 16

Excellent Knight for the Pistons bench

And so forth and so on. Feel free to add your own.

Could be great. Assuming he ever hit a three (never taken more than 20 in a year, never made more than 3). Or a two (career shooting under 0.400). And gets to the line less often per minute than CB.

Knight is a pure PG - he'll give you assists, he won't turn the ball over, and he will run an offense efficiently. And he'll do a good job on the defensive end (whenever being 5'10" doesn't hurt him too much).

But, he isn't going to be instant offense off the bench. Wait, he doesn't shoot all that much worse than Hunter, so have at it.

Brevin is okay, the major knock against him is that he can never stay healthy enough for a season to save his life.

If you look at his NBA career, I don't think it was one year that he was not sitting on the bench for all types of NBA related injuries.

He's a good player, but damaged goods. He is beyond any miracle that Arnie Kander can come up with.

Stick a fork in him, he's done.

If we were counting on him as a starter or for major minutes the injuries would definitely present a large concern. I doubt he will play enough to have much likelihood of injury.

I think he is far enough ahead of those other guys mentioned (Atkins, Flip, etc.) in what he potentially brings to the team to take the chance on him.

I would put in a vote for Knight if I had to choose between the others too. he was rated the nineteenth best PG in the league last year, and the 3rd highest assist avergage at 8.8, behind Nash and Baron Bavis. (Billups was 4th at 8.6). This was on a team that had 26 victories.

As army girl mentioned, he has often been injured throughout his career, but played 69 games last year and 66 the prior which were his two best two years as a pro. With the emergence of Ramond Felton, Charlotte could be convince to give him up and swap the one year contracts that ofhe and Davis or Cato if the money is right...

Yeah we have defensive problems in the middle, but we also need that pure Pg that can spell Billups and keep his minutes down to below 33. If we keep the O consistent w/o falling into scoring droughts, we should be able to outscore the opposition since that will be the mantra of next year w/o Ben.

I'll be fine if we get Flip, but please no more Chucky. Losing 2 heatbreaking years in a row, and losing Ben has got me toeing the edge of the cliff. I think I'll fall off if we get Chucky:laugh::ohwell:

    @ Jammer & ggazoo69 - ROTFLMAO

Knight is a decent ball hawk and a great passer. Someone who can, you know, feed the post and stuff. Talents sorely lacking in Master Billups and his former sidekick Senor Arroyo.

It would be interesting to see Hunter and Knight putting on a full court press (*sighs* remembers the days of Ben Wallace coming back to steal an inbounds...)

Hopefully Flip remembers that pressing is a defensive technique, not just an excuse to put more starch in his collar!
