I would wait for the off-season. Took 6 years to gain the respect we have around the league but we'll probably lose that respect by the end of the season. Maybe we'll start building it from 0 again next year if we sign a max-free agent this summer.
Respect is tied to winning, not personnel. Talented personnel tend to win, but talent that loses (us) don't get respect. Boston got no respect for a couple years between Toine and KG. It's because they sucked, even though Pierce was there and Boston is the all-time legendary franchise.
I am not and wasn't expecting there to be a Piston move, but thought there would be alot more moves League wide then there has been. The money crunch might have teams holding onto those contracts a bit tighter then they would when the money is flowing...
PISTONS MADE A TRADE!!! BREAKING: PISTONS TRADED THEIR ELITE STATUS WITH CHAUNCEY FOR . . . . CRAP! (Source: Losernews.com) Its not going to happen fellas we are going to suck the rest of the year.
Joe went on an extended lunch and left his Blackberry in the drawer at the office...he doesn't want to deal
It's generally understood that uncertainty hinders investment. People like to see (as well as they can) the outcomes of their decisions. When they can't, they are hesitant to take chances where the odds are unknown.
And it's over. Which is not to say that Joe was sitting on his hands. Just that nothing good came along.
So you want me to change the senationalist and hyperbolic front page? http://www.pistonsforum.com This is a funny day. All of those analysts ready to show their worth, and nothing happens.
In all honesty do we really have anything people want. Yes, EVERYONE wants expiring deals, but not for their best players. Their fans would revolt. We could have giving the cap space up for some second tier guys on overpaid contracts though.
I'm not sure what say I loathe more these last few years, they day the champ is crowned, draft day or the trade deadline.
I can't believe the Pistons just sat on their hands while bargains galore were available today. The Knicks stole Chris Wilcox from the Thunder for Malik Rose and Jerome James, two players that won't even see the court ever. Memphis gave away players to dump salaries to get back a draft pick and Orlando got richer with Rafer Alston. The Pistons should just go ahead and try for a lottery pick and call this season a dud right now. I'll have a little more whine with my cheese please!
