I dont know about you guys but as I type this I am overcomed with doubt, excitement, and overwhelming fear. I think everyone can agree that on paper we have the best team bar none in the east. In stating that will these Pistons do what it takes to be their dominant selves. Will we play that in your face defense that made us champs 3 years prior? Will we find that "intensity" that made our opponents cringe whenever they had to play us especially at home? Will Flip be able to make in game adjustments and expand his playoff rotation to 9 deep.

Tell me what you guys think. :fear:

If we are not able to do these things and lose to Miami in the 2nd round look for a firing of Flip and and end of a great run these past 5 years.

Pistons cannot allow other teams to gain confidence. This happens all the time when they play weaker opponents. It would be nice to see some early rounds, producing sweeps by the Pistons. Flip will be coaching next season. He's too much of a company man to be let go.

Mad Hatter and I have observed a playoff ritual for the last couple of seasons.

Whoever we are playing, we try to eat pre-game from the regional menu of our opponent.

San Antonio might neccessitate a Tex Mex meal.

    Miami, the South Beach Diet.

    Philadelphia, cheese steaks.

I will try to remember to post the opponents food of choice.

The Pistons have made the playoffs so many consecutive years that the first two rounds are a bore.

The real stuff starts at the Conference Finals. If they get there, which hopefully they will, then it will be time to get excited. Until then yawn.

Not with Miami as a potential second round opponent. In my opinion that is our toughest road to the Finals.

What needs to happen to face the Wiz in the first round?

They need to lose all of their remaining games? At least most of them.

I'm so excited about the playoffs, I bought a TV!

Will Mister Big Shot EARN that max contract over the next two months?

Will Webber and Dice finally get those rings they have been lacking?

Does Tayshaun have another post season miracle play up his skinny little sleeve?

Will Reggie still call Rip "mini me" if he doesn't curl off the screens like he did last year? Will Rip return to his midrange game?

Will Nazr get a few minutes against Shaq... or anyone?

Will Amir watch from the bench?

Will we see the Goon Squad against Miami? Will they (almost) make us forget about Ben?

This year's Playoffs is only the 3rd postseason I've ever watched and I'm 10 times more excited going into it this season than I was either of the previous 2. I was really nervous about last year's 2nd round. My mom told me I couldn't watch the games because I became so anxious (sheesh, you break 1 remote...).

Anyway, here's to a great game tonight against Toronto and to seeing some play from residents of the far end of the bench (i.e., Super Dupe and Nazr). CHEERS!

Not getting too up for the playoffs... I don't like our inside game or interior defense... therefore don't want to get set up or a letdown.

I was ready like yesterday for the playoffs to begin.

Although, I am nursing some fears from the squad which includes, boredom, if they blow out their opponents the first two games, they come in with a laissez faire, cavalier, pompous, can't touch me type attitude (see last year's Cleveland game).

If this happens, we will expend of lot of energy trying to play catch up because we didn't take our opponent seriously.

If we come in and play pistons ball, we will be okay.

If the Magic win out and Washington loses out, will we be playing the Wiz in the first round? I guess I'm asking who has the tie breaker there.

While I think we won't have a prob with the Magic, the Wiz are about as easy as it gets right now with all the injuries.

The Magic game today was pretty interesting. They had a 20 point lead late in the 3rd quarter... when the choking began. 10 turnovers in the 4th quarter and only 10 points on offense. If the game was 30 seconds longer, they would have blown it for sure.

Lions get the #1 draft pick. The Tigers look like contenders. The Pistons have the top seed. And the Wings (also top seed) are off to a 2-0 start.

That is about as good as it gets for Detroit sports at this time of year.

And the Shock are coming off a title, and State won the Frozen Four.

    Michigan sports are doing great!

I know the feeling. I'm preparing myself already for an early playoff exit. A more positive way to look at it is that the Pistons haven't yet peaked:

MVP: Ready for promotion to the All-Defensive First Team

I'm keeping my Pistons expectations low, but with every team in the playoffs except Miami, Cleveland, Washington, New Jersey, Orlando, Dallas, Phoenix, and Denver being entertaining in one way or another there should be some decent basketball to be found at least through the end of May.
