Coming off of Sloan and Brown it's got to be a good change for him. In a Sporting News article last summer Arroyo was quoted about the difference between playing for Sloan and playing for Brown.

"Coach Brown is more of a players coach. He's more relaxed. Coach Sloan wants you to know he's in control, on and outside the court. "

Larry Brown, a relaxed players coach...hmmmm.

I agree Flip will let Arroyo run the offense and that will result in more fast break points, as well more easy basket for other players. Also I think Arroyo will be more productive on the offensive end due to the Flip offensive schemes, which will let Arroyo shot more and attack the basket.

Hello all. I want to congratulate the microwavw for this forum. It really looks good. I guess that more relaxed is in the eye of the beholder.

    Arroyo, Darko, and Delfino...

are all going to like Flip a lot more than they liked LB. Let's hope that turns them into productive players, because otherwise it won't matter.

Arroyo and Darko at least are starting out with a clean slate with me. Delfino's going to need to do some more work to convince me, though.

    Arroyo

Last season for Arroyo was a nightmare. I'll be surprise if he doesn't go into training camp like a player with something to prove. Basically, after been ejected from Utah to land in Detroit as an 8 -9 player, Carlos have to know it is time to perform or else.

I wonder how Flip will handle player motivation... sure he could bench them if they're not performing. Is he going to be tough enough?

I hope this players coach image doesn't translate into lazy play by his players.

I especially want to see if we play with the same defensive intensity that LB demanded.

    Yep, I agree

It's going to be great for Arroyo, but he will have to learn that he's not the only initiator of the offense, like his first year in Utah.

He wants to hod the ball, and dictate the play, which works when you have a untalented squad. But when you have playmakers on your team, you have to allow them the opportunity to make a play.

    Arroyo very high on

I like arroyo's game, let him make the pass to set up a score it is what a guard do. Larry brown can turn your game that you do well and make it seem like its a virus if it don't fit his system. Arroyo will do well with a training camp and building chemistry with these guys he will have a great year.

    Flip

I think we'll see more confidence from players like CA, CD and DMC under Flip this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing our new high powered offence in action!

I think keeping old threads around is just one more cool thing about this forum. You can look back at old topics and see just how wrong (or right) we were.
