I think this move will really help the Lakers. I've heard the Cav fans are really wringing their hands, saying Artest is the only person that can slow LeBron down. Yeah, he may have had a bad series but he is known to be a great defensive player. Maybe not alot of rebounds but he is always in your face, harassing you.

As far as Phil goes, I think he will be able to reign him in. Phil's been around a long time and has alot of wisdom from those experiences. As long as they don't have too many trouble makers on the team, they should be ok.

Artest advises that he wants to wear # 37 with the Lakers next season as a
tribute to Micheal Jacksons' Thriller which stayed # 1 on the charts for 37 consecutive weeks. :hail:

    (He's still crazy.)

Revenge of the Jocks: Ron Artest answers all of the tough questions - ESPN

Apparently it took an entire interview for him to say one sane thing.

Ron Artest is leading Lakers' countdown to 2010-11 championship - Lee Jenkins - SI.com

Does this guy really seem like a problem?

He excuses himself from all Laker pats on the back last year because he knew he wasn't a part of it... awesome

He orders a ring that doesn't fit him so that he won't get satisfied... then gives it away to keep the hunger for his next one... really weird, but cool.

This is the guy we needed on the Pistons after '04.

It has been said that after the brawl and suspension that he actually wanted to come play for Joe because he respected him as player and GM.....but public outcry from everyone including some of our forum members, would have attempted to shoot that down and you know Mr. D (RIP) would have never signed him.

But yep he could have been the difference in those EC meltdowns in 06, 07 and 08...but know one will ever believe or admit it.

Say what you want about RonRon but he sure has become approachable during his Laker time. I never liked this guy before but he is starting to win my heart.

Just think you could have bidding on one of the Piston championship rings he would have auctioned off in 2006, 2007 and 2008....
