This is pretty interesting about the day off in Philly before last night's game.

    Spirited practice turns Pistons' fortunes

For me the really interesting part is the end, about Flip Murray.

"I've been in this situation before, know what they're trying to do here, as far as developing the young fellas, me being a veteran, I've seen that before. I know what it takes for a team to be able to do that."

"(Murray stays positive by) just knowing it's tomorrow. Tomorrow, I might have a chance to play."

Murray was asked if he thought his days with the Pistons were numbered.
"I'm not talking about that," Murray said. "I don't know. If I am (traded), I am. If I'm not, I'm not."

That's a tough row to hoe. "Tomorrow, I might have a chance to play." I guess it's important to remember sometimes there are real living, thinking, feeling human beings under those uniforms.

excellent point. as maddening as murray was to watch out there, i've also felt a little sorry for him when i see him on the sidelines in a suit, or coming onto the floor (in his suit) to pat guys on the back when they come over for a time out.

two other interesting points: stuckey citing Joe telling him to stay aggressive and push the ball up the floor when he's in (that's something a number of forumites had already pointed out as critical to his success). And then chauncey asserting the team's need of Amir.

so who knows? maybe, at least for the time being, something's have shaken loose over the past few days and are now pointing in a better direction.

Again, why isn't the idea coming from Flip? Why does Dumars have to tell Stuckey how to play to his strengths?

It appears that this writer doesn't watch the Clipper's games. But I can't get on them for that.

Since the beginning of the year (9 games) Thorton is averaging 13 ppg shooting 49% (45 of 92). He also had 23 points last night and has averaged 20 ppg over the last 3 games.

Which is fine. I took offense to the statement that Celtics are better players and BETTER HUMAN BEINGS.

A little satire perhaps given that the whole media world seems to think the entire Celtics team walks on water.

That is major change for the Celtics from their history

When Auerbach was in charge the Celtics parted the waters
Now with (A Inge) is in charge they are walking on waters

I guess you could say that the Auerbach Celtics were the Old Testament team and the A Inge Celtics are the New Testament team.

I'm not really sure calling your rookie big man a puppy who chews on your shoes is one of the best motivational techniques. It starts out sounding a little funny, but then gets really odd, then a little creepy.

Maybe one of the things they teach you in head coaches' school is how to talk about your players in the press. Appears Boylan was out that day.

He's still got it. Inspector gadget in the house. He's actually trying to cram the basketball into Kobe's eye socket. And as you can see, Kobe is in excruciating pain.
