The use a square basket in Italy.
Doesn't Datome look a little like Tom Hanks character in the movie Philadelphia?
You got my coffee came out from my nose, it hurts.
Hopefully Pope gets one of these....specifically in March or April when playoff positioning is important Kia Rookie Winner: Trey Burke | NBA.com
Grantland has a very interesting write-up of the big three: "The Pistons Shouldn't Be This Bad." Zach Lowe is the best basketball writer out there, so it's nice to see him dig into the problems that most of us have noticed.
Nice read Laimbrane, thanks for posting it. This made me LOL:
Very interesting but depressing article: He rips Monroe's defense: But he thinks we need to keep Monroe and deal Smith:
Interesting read. It seems like Cheeks is not a complete idiot. Josh Smith gets firmer (and bigger) role at the expense of Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe | ProBasketballTalk
I understand what he's saying, but I still disagree with it. Dealing Smith is bad asset management; he acknowledges that you'd have to pay a team to take him, whereas with Monroe - who has undeniable value - you're highly likely to get something in return while his contract is manageable and he still has a debatable ceiling. Just like Lowe pointed out that he's a beast offensively (which is an exaggeration, but whatever), some team in need of post offense will pay for it. I think Smith + whatever Monroe draws in return is a better proposition than Monroe - whatever you have to part with to get rid of Smith.
Any time you can not play one of your best players you've got to make that move.
There were several good ones in there. I liked his line about Drummond bring the only player in the league to fall for Valanciunas’s pump fake.
I watched about 10 seconds of a Raptors game last night and the one thing that I saw was Val pump fake, get his man in the air, and then drive and dunk. My thought was that it's actually a legit move for him.
He totally nailed it! Ernie I know you love the kid, but let's not pretend that he's something that he's not....right now.
I was talking about any of Monroe, Smith or Drummond. They CAN'T have one of those guys not playing at the end of the games. They made their bed...... Speaking directly to Drummond though, do you not think he's one of the top 5 players on the team?
I loved the part of Z Lowe's piece when he noted that the Pistons D is good at giving up 2 "of the juiciest shots" in the league, the corner 3 (Mo Cheecks likes this.) and layups off cuts to the basket. I also liked the picture he used showing Jennings guarding Valanciunas 35' from the basket while his man, Kyle Lowry, stood wide open at the 3 pt line. The Pistons seem to like doubling Drummond's man out past the 3 pt line while leaving their man wide open. I'd sit Drummond until they can correct this.
NBA Trade Rumors: Detroit Pistons may trade Josh Smith before deadline
OK which one of you submitted this story just to shift the focus off Singler? Gores would never tank the rest of the season for a broken Lopez....unless we were already sitting at 5-33
"Defense is hard."
I think "F this!" might be more appropriate in the bubble.
