So that makes the half life for genius in the NBA about three months. Sounds about right.

Three head coaches on the bench may be good, with Flip the ringleader.

Like himat says, Flip will be the first to go....taking the fall for the teams post play this season

Yeah man, Even if we do good by midseason I think Flip will still go unless we play the bench. If the team does well, but the starters are playing 40 minutes a game I think Flip will go. If the team does average and the starters are playing 40 minutes a game its a definite change in coaches. If the team does average, but the bench plays then I think Flip has a chance to stay, and if flip plays the bench and the team still does great than Flip will stay until we see what he does come playoff time.

I say Terry Porter or Woodson. You defintely will nee an assistant coach he could stand in for flip if he gets the boot mid season.

To be clear, a recent detroit article stated that the Pistons were looking to add Porter AND O'Brien to create a SUPER STAFF.

Makes you wonder what the hell we are paying Flip $4 million plus for, but hey, at least it shows the Pistons are not cheaping out on the coaching staff.

Mind you, they could just add Gar Heard as the lead assistant and save a lot of money. Gar was cash money as hallway coach.

An advance on his severance pay, perhaps?

Super staff? I see a new head coach and an assistant coach there.

    Riley, Jackson, Popovich. (Tier one)

Avery, Carlisle (and a couple others, prolly) (Tier two)

The bulk of the remainder (Tier three)

    Flip (Retarded ass-clown)

    L.B. (filthy rich bad person)

Can we pick coaches, or what?

From this day forward I am referring to Flip Saunders as "The Mannequin."

I think we'll see Flip use the bench a lot more this year... he's not oblivious to what everyone is saying (including Joe and his players)... he may be dumb but he's not stupid :P
I won't be listening to folks complaining about losing more games though.

:tape::tape2: You won't here nothing from me! If Flip plays the bench and he gets Ben involved in the offense I'll be happy.

    he's not stupid...just stubborn.

Flip: bring that brand of basketball we love and we'll be with you win or lose. KG ain't here to bail out a team when it struggles. Or will he be...:eyebrows:

Wasn't this the same problem with LB... not using the bench enough.

Yep. Except the bench was better this year. While maybe not in the Shaq stopping department, Davis is an upgrade over Campbell, and Evans is an upgrade over Dupree. A healthy Delfino is an upgrade over an unhealthy Delfino. Maxiell > Darko.

I don't care who they get. As long as the assistant coach can stress rebounding and defense, they will be cool in my book.

I'm one of the cats carrying the torch for Laims and Mahorn. Not really as head coaches just yet, but those guys could rock the hallway... and ain't nobody... NOBODY slackin off with those two guys around.

O'Brien stresses defense and rebounding. Had some post-season success with Boston. Fired by Ainge over a dispute about not playing young guys enough.

That might work out pretty well. The Pistons certainly aren't an organization thats too concerned with playing the young guys enough.:eyebrows:

well my question to you is - would you rather have this, or would you rather have gar heard / sidney lowe / don zierdon as your assistant coaches?

you can always work on the 'too many chiefs' problem, but you can't work on the 'too many incompetents' problem :)

If the 3 coaches thing doesn't work out you can always just fire Flip and let the best guy take the head coaching job:laugh:.

Sure about that Max? I don't remember those Celtics teams being very good at rebounding or defense, but I could be wrong.
